This video looks at the Memphis Grizzlies and how Ja Morant being out for the entire year this year helped them build their core around him and Jaren Jackson Jr with guys like GG Jackson and Scottie Pippen Jr

@@backyardbuckets829the owner is one of the richest in the league and they've said he's not unwilling to spend. Specifically the GM has said they're not bound by small market notions. Now that was before the new CBA so the team building restrictions going into the 2nd apron would likely hold more weight than the money itself
@colbybrand53264 ай бұрын
Why does everyone think Memphis is in such cap trouble? Wantanabe left his contract so that leaves Memphis like $2 million over the first apron. Btw, that is in the company of a lot of the nba. Shaving $2.5 million is not difficult at all. You move any one of the following contracts; 1. Konchar $6 million 2. Zaire 6.5 million 3. Laravia $4 million ? 4. Aldama $4 million Basically, they are set up to easily avoid the apron, but at some point you have to become a first apron and maybe even second apron team. Minnesota is on the verge of like 60 million in luxury tax. Memphis will be like the 11th smallest cap in the league next year if nothing changes. I just think the salary cap “he’ll” is completely overblown

I really despise that salary cap talk as a fan. They are only closing in on the first apron. If the owner has a problem with that, he is not rich enough to own the team.

They need a big against the bigger bodies. JJ is not going to give you that consistently. So the question is do they get one in FA use that pick to a shooter in the draft if they let Luke walk or do they draft a big and try to retain Luke. Their GM has come out and said they need a big in exit interviews.

Lowkey clingan wouldn’t be bad but I love Knecht for them too so maybe they get a big in FA

@p93470nic is a good rebounder but struggles from time to time against big bodies but outside of that his defense is versatile enough to where he can guard 1-5. He's given guys like luka a hard time and he can help contain jokic in a possible WCF matchup

The Grizzles need to rebuild mode blow it all up trade Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose,Desmond Bane,Luke Kennard, Brandon Clarke, John Konchar, Jaren Jackson, to the Blazers for Malcolm Brogdon, Scoot Henderson,Dalano Banton,Ashton Hagans,Ryan Rupert, Matisse Thybulle, Jerami Grant, Kris Murray, Moses Brown......... Trade ScottyPippenJr, Lamar Stevens, Yuta Watanable, Jake LaRiva, Santi Aldama, GG Jackson Jr, Jordan Goodwin,Vince Williams Jr, Zavier Simpson, Timmy Allen,Jack White, to the Raptors for Gary Trent Jr, Bruce Brown Jr, Garrett Temple, Jordan Nwora, Malik Williams hopefully this is a better trade for all the KZbin bloggers in that order..........

Huh?! Is this real take? Memphis is about to have 2 dpoys on the court, one of the best 3 point shooters in the league, and then Ja Morant. This is a deep playoff team.

@colbybrand5326 bruh memphis needs a center & Ja to stay healthy & out of trouble & Jaren Jackson Jr needs to be healthy as well for them to compete in the Western Conference

First of all ja will never get traded and there is no way the grizzlies are accepting that trade it sucks
@adryangray83933 ай бұрын
@user-qg3pq4eg5c that's your opinon I don't think that trade sucks another young pg that stays out of trouble plus BI when he can stay healthy but this trade it's not going to happen bruh so calm down the Western Conference is loaded with talent so the Grizzles better make some moves this off-season to stay competitive & stay healthy they need a big man they traded away Steven Adams for nothing they could've sent Steven Adams to the Warriors for James Wiseman before the Warriors traded him away to the Pistons & develop James Wiseman on that Grizzles squad in that order

@@adryangray8393 ja had a stint of trouble, he hasn’t had an issue in over a year now. Adam silver just gave a ja report and basically said, “he’s totally turned a corner and all is positive” No team in their right mind would rebuild that had the Memphis grizzlies. They are not built for next year most likely, but the following years after that, when teams start collapsing under the new financial rules: Golden state has totally crashed, clippers are done and going into rebuild, Phoenix is so expensive and likely financially crashed, the t. Wolves get worse each year and are the most expensive team in the game. Memphis is financially healthy. They will be under the first apron and likely miss luxury tax. The teams to beat are the financially healthy teams: Sacramento, OKC, etc. Memphis is about to be coming up when the big teams are cracking Memphis probably has the best built team for 2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28. Yeah, they need a real center and they will hopefully get one.
