For Silver, I always give the "ping test" first. That one test by itself is a killer to try and counterfeit. The "sound" can be checked in a phone. (Speaking of coins here.)

When you are a stacker its like christmas every day. But yea there are risks and on occasions you can loose out, im a stacking nibbler which protects me, buying small amounts often and also buying coins when they are first released so unlikely they are not genuine. But i never worry, if i was going watching a football match every week my losses on that hobby are absolute, i may think "we've won" at the end of the match but its unlikely i get a winners medal sat in upper tier seat 45 row H in my meat pie juice stained moob stretched fan shirt, but if i buy some silver i have won every time even taking the obvious risks into consideration.

Also delivery itself. Both the RM and Baird couriers in the UK have left packages on the door step during covid with no signature and no knock on the door! 😮

I always have my coins delivered at the postal office and I go and pick it up there myself. I don’t want my coins being delivered at my neighbours or left at my doorstep.

That's exactly what I've been doing when I open up a package! I thought if someone made a mistake when packaging, there would be no way for me to prove it unless it was filmed..Precious metals packages require your signature here in Canada, once you sign for it then its your responsibility, it is not an insured package anymore once the package is with you. Glad you are recommending it to people! And yeah definitely keep all the receipts, its lazy accounting and good data as well as a small piece of the bullions history.

Great advice on recording the unboxing - especially for larger orders. I have been keeping invoices since my second purchase - didn't on my first purchase of silver in 2013 and I still don't know exactly what I paid for those Silver Eagles! My invoices are all scanned, saved digitally, and backed up. I'm so glad that I saved all those invoices because this year new tax laws require proof of purchase price to document profit / loss. And I also always test metal purchases when they arrive - weigh, measure, magnet slide (for silver), Sigma test.

I ordered 1.5 oz. Canadian wildlife series from J M Bullion. One package I opened has 1.25 oz. Bison Coins. I contacted JMB and they was able to review the packaging process and indeed they put in the wrong coin. Before they did that I felt as if they didn't believe me .

Great information you shared i do check my metals and keep papwr records. I am going to start videoing packages being opened wise advise thanks. Did you ever do any other videos on ways to check your metals not using electronic devices to verify the metals. If so what are they? Thanks again for the information you shared

Thank you - enjoyable series, with good insights. Knowing what you know now (global view of markets, and gold-backed currencies vs US petroleum-dollar). Is gold over-priced?

Do you think silver with milk spots should have a higher value since you can tell directly that they are real silver because of the milk spots? 🤔

Would you ever consider accepting payment for someone to send you metal by post for you then to test it on the sigma?

I find the invoice keeping an odd advice. Although I have no experience in selling.. The invoice can say I bought a 1 oz Krugerrand but it does not guarantee that the invoice matches the Krugerrand that I’m selling.
