I bought all my silver and own a gold mine. Tried to set my children up for a future. I realize what's going on in the market is a black swan event and they will probably never get the opportunity I have right now. As a father, my life is some what sacrificed to propping up a future for the kids and just hope they do life better than I did

My loot was never meant for me, initially it was so my family had enough to bury me. I was in a similar position to you in hospital 20 years ago. It makes you realise nothing is as important as your health & general happiness. Good to see you on the mend pal.

Most people just think about this in terms of real estate/ property and fiat currency. I suppose when it comes to metals It feels a bit different because it's an asset that feels more unique and historical.

You can't take the shiny with you. It's not really that important when all is said and done. It's nice to have in life and to share with others as it gives you a sense of security, but yeah as you've discovered with your recent health scare, it's not the most important thing in life. I can die any day my doctors say. Now i am homeless. With my service dog. House's are far and few between. 72 hours left in a motel with a fractured spine. Then sleeping in my car. Swf 63. I am truly scared beyond words. My kids do not care. Bitter pill to swallow. They all own houses up to 1/2 million dollars. . I raised them with values a good moral compass. Helping those in need. I guess i am disposable. Disabled are undesirable and un deserving pieces of human flesh. I miss my grand kids who 2 of the 4 never say they love me. I am the poor one. Money is the root of many evils. Pray for them they only know what they have been reprogrammed to see in the new word. 🤮🙏🙏🙏😢❤️

I have been thinking about this for a while, my plan is for my daughter to inherit my so far pretty small stack. I have started to try to get her interested in gold and silver a bit by letting her help when I get new stuff, so she will have some inkling about it when the time comes.

My whole philosophy to silver and hopefully gold stacking is a potential old age safety net and if that's not required by the time I shuffle off my mortal coil it will be a nice little security blanket for my children's old age security. My advice is don't stack for the future at the expense of the present, that will lead to a life unlived.

This is a concern of mine as well. My wife and have a Trust Fund set up outlining our finances (Banking, Retirement, etc) and our Beneficiaries will be; Those who will make financial/health decisions on our behalf should we become unable to as well as funeral arrangements. But I have not listed my Bullion in the Fund. I'm not sure that I want our Beneficiaries to take possession of it. What do I do?

My ma used to say that she is too busy to die. She hadn't got time to waste on dying. I have a password protected spreadsheet which contains details of every account I have. It contains the user names, the passwords, the memorable information. My better half has a copy of the spreadsheet and knows the password. She knows where the PMs are stored.

I'm glad to hear you're back to live another day, BYB. Your perspectives are bang on. I'm still in the early stages of a "stack", albeit with the numismatic accent, but I think about this stuff every day of my life. Everything could just end now and that's it. No amount of belongings, valuable or otherwise, is going to bring me back to enjoy another day with family. It would be nice if my work, collections and portfolio offer some comfort to loved ones, but ultimately it's no more than making casseroles at a wake to the grieving. Ultimately, it's all just a hobby with the added benefit of security for the living. I honestly believe precious metals/antiquities should be an accepted form of direct payment beyond debts and the like. Look after yourself and those you love with hugs and little moments, the rest will fall into place.

I made an instructional journal for my family. This includes how and where to sell. The journal will be with the executor of my will. Each item is allocated to family members by the ounce to make things easier. I only stack CGT exempt bullion for this purpose. My pennies worth, Document every single purchase and prices. Keep receipts if necessary.

Whether you are invested in precious metals, stocks, bonds, or other investments - you should always have a documented plan for your successors to help them not only gain access to those investments but instructions on how to deal with them. Probably a good idea to identify trusted people to help them divest those assets if the need arises.

It's an uneasy subject yes set up beneficiaries on digital assets and make a will for the physical assets I am 28 and no kids and I've already set up a tutorial on how to estimate a value on my items if it comes a surprise a little too early.
