i started noticing myself becoming forgetful at about age 42. i started taking a patented bacopa extract called synapsa, and within a month or two, felt my memory was restored to how it was before. i still take it daily. i find it a very interesting plant, as i feel no acute effects. it's not like caffeine or huperzine, where you suddenly feel yourself more alert and in a different headspace. just one day a month or two into taking it, i noticed, hey, i'm not losing those mental notes i take anymore!

@@colinuout2725 i wish i made some money off of it. but no, i'm just very happy with the results. they just studied it extensively and concentrated just the right amounts of the phytochemicals in each dose shown to improve memory. i recently also gave it to the 83 year old lady with dementia that i care for, who was already taking a generic bacopa, and i can absolutely see an improvement in her day to day baseline. i decided to get this brand because it had the most promising reviews on nootropics depot, where i get a lot of my supplements.

The only person who differentiated between Bacopa and not confused it with Centella Asiática. Thank You. I grow it in my garden and I use its crushed fluids to sooth my skin a s a topical and then use the leaves also over my salads. Here, in India, mostly it's taken 3 months before examinations by some students, which I did with a few other of our Ayurvedic herbs and I did benefit from it immensely.

@@UntamedScience one more tip. Just consuming the extracts is not helpful as the trials on them are very small sample size and not how it works. There are many compounds in the plant which work in synergy, whereas, just Bacoside A will be just solo compound that won't be helpful unless paired with the other compounds in it. I say that to my friends who rely on Curcumin extracted from Turmeric alone. There are many other compounds that make it more useful if you consume the powder instead of Big Pharma traps. We as a handful Indians also consume Shankhpushpi leaves for brain boosting properties, Ashwagandha and a few native herbs that aid in sleep and as a severe insomniac, it helped me a lot. Especially with my GABA boosting mechanisms. Happy to respond.

no, they aren't even in the same order. Nootropics don't work or everyone would be taking them. Here are some reasons why Bacopa monnieri does not work: Lack of efficacy in human trials: Bacopa has not been shown to be effective for any disease or medical symptom in adequately controlled, prospective trials in humans. Inconclusive human studies on Alzheimer's disease: Human studies on patients with Alzheimer's disease have been inconclusive. No effect on serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels: Bacopa monnieri supplementation has no effect on serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels.
