I thought I was supposed to get blood sugar down, but statins do the opposite. I stopped taking them without consulting, but when I told my GP she checked. Seems that without them my risk of some vascular issue was 8%. With them it was 5%. Well, 3% seems like a low number to me. No more statins here. I'm a recovering high function alcoholic. Thanks for explaining. I'm Irish, pale, and have blonde hair, blue eyes. I've always just relied upon the sun exposure. Spending time outside. It's difficult for people like me with light skin. So I started taking 5kiu and I've felt just fine with that. Everyone will have their own reasons for adjusting D3 and other forms. But I advise not to overdo it. Just adjust the amount to the amount you need. You won't need a doctor to tell you anything if you just adjust your own dosage to your personal well-being! Best to all!

As a fellow health KZbinr, I appreciate the insights shared in your video. It's crucial to address the misconceptions surrounding vitamin D, especially given its vital role in our health. I’d like to add that while vitamin D is indeed essential for numerous bodily functions, including immune response and bone health, it's important to consider individual variability in vitamin D metabolism. Factors such as genetics, age, body weight, and existing health conditions can significantly influence how our bodies process and utilize vitamin D. Additionally, I encourage viewers to consult with healthcare professionals before making any significant changes to their vitamin D intake, especially if they are considering high doses for therapeutic purposes. Regular blood tests can help monitor levels and ensure safety. Thank you for shedding light on this important topic! Your video is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the complexities of vitamin D supplementation. Keep up the great work!

As an African American, I take a daily dose of 40,000 IU of vitamin D3 along with 400 mg of K2. This is essential because individuals of color often have lower levels of vitamin D due to factors like increased melanin in the skin, which reduces vitamin D synthesis from sunlight. Supplementing with vitamin D is crucial for maintaining overall health, supporting immune function, and preventing deficiencies that can lead to various health issues.

Intact vitamin-D (non-converted to prohormone 25(oh)D=24hour half life, Prohormone 25(oh)D (what they measure in your blood) =3week half-life active hormone 1-25 (oh) D=2hour half life. Intact vitamin D can be taken through the entire activation process 25(oh)D (prohormone) in many tissues throughout the body (immune system/cells, not just the liver. It is actually easier for the intact vitamin-D to get into the immune cells because of how tightly 25(oh)D is bound to the vitamin-D binding protein. If your25(oh) D(prohormone) levels are low, the bodies first priority (skeletal system) is to get them up to (40ng to 60ng) and will rapidly start using most of the intact vitamin-D to do this. Which leaves little intact vitamin-D to fully support the immune system. This is why it is important to have both optimal 25(oh)D/prohormone levels(60ng - 100ng), and also to have good daily circulating intact vitamin-D levels, this is also probably why doing the vitamin-D hammer is effective when you are sick, you are getting lots of intact vitamin - D into your system/cells. This is also the reason why you want to take it daily and not weekly or monthly because intact vitamin - D only has a 24 hour half life. Also magnesium is a huge co-factor for vitamin-D, it is needed to take vitamin - D through the activation process. So green veggies or supplements. 1) maintain 25(oh)D levels above 60ng/ml, safe range 60ng/ml to 100ng/ml. 2)take daily to have circulating intact vitamin-D. 3) daily magnesium in your diet, green veggies or supplements. 4) vitamin - D hammer when sick 30,000iu a day for few days (3to5). 5) vitamin-D is not toxic, safe up to 200 ng/ml levels. 6) enjoy being healthier, and the great reduction in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancers. @@ChiakiClaire-qu6xi that’s true, but hopefully dr berg sees this comment section and lets him use it for free. If he did use it without paying royalties, in my opinion dr berg wouldn’t be sad about it.

Yes sir much respect and love for the awareness you are raising and the information you are sharing. I have been studying the link between EBV and Auto-Immunes Specifically SLE with EBV reactivation along with vitamin D deficiency. Your videos are an amazing part of my study which I take very personal. Thank you very much

20k iu a day for over 2 years. Never felt better my entire life. Practically cured most of my chronic pain from auto immune. I take 400mcg of K2 a day as well.

No magnesium? Vit D. depletes magnesium.

It's frustrating that regular medical doctors dont know anything about vitamin D. If I'm taking 10,000 IU per day, and then see my doctor for a checkup should I share that? They will flip and maybe want to take a test which might not tell them accurate results?

If you knew that doctors get only few hours of education on nutrition you wouldn’t be surprised. Take that as a lesson to educate yourself and don’t wait for your doctor to tell you. We need to become more responsible for our health. The information sources are out there - use them, your life and health depends on it.

I don’t have a gallbladder and take 6000 iu daily with K2 & magnesium. Am I taking the right amount?
@gigilamoore26562 ай бұрын
That is my exact situation and that is how much I take as well. I hope someone answers.

Same here, gallbladder removed, rely on food for vit D, but once in a while I take D3/K2. Unsure if that makes it to the bones & immune system though.
@JCX-92 ай бұрын
6000 D3 is very low amount especially for people who are suffering from some illness. As the doctor said you need at least 10,000 or more to really make any difference in your immuno response. I take 30,000 daily and i am not even sick or have any health issues. But being older i know the absorption decreases with age, also if the person is overweight, darker skin more D3 is needed to see any health improvement, our gut microbiome can also affect vitamin absorption. I also go in the sun whenever possible there is nothing like it for health benefits there are many.
