Yeah what about the white slime. Set-up a Red Sea max nano with 1 year old Carib sea rock from another tank. White slime 2 months later. Should I use mb7 or mb clean?

@@ReefBum Hey Keith! Hope all is well, question, when you were using microbacter clean did you notice your nitrate drop and Po4 stay okay? I’m at .07no3 and .06 Po4. I have dosed mb clean for about 6 weeks now.

@@80gl_3 I did take my chaeto offline when I started dosing both CLEAN and MB7 so I believe both nitrates and phosphates dipped after using these products.

I am starting a new tank and was wondering on which product to dose? Im guessing MB7 would help with my bacteria population from the start and allow for a healthy tank start. What are your choices for starting a tank off correctly? I have a few pieces of LR but mostly dead marco rock which is why I want to seed it properly for good tank health.

Hi thanks for the really informative talk! People need more of these types of content videos as people drop out due to these issues! My question though to the both of you is thus: Nitrate @ 25 on salifert test kit Phosphate @ 0.09 Alkalinity @ 8.3 PH @ 8.1 Calcium 430 Magnesium @ 1430 Salinity @ 1.025 But ive got an issue with some golden brown algae thats on my glass ?? Just started dosing MB7 4 days ago and still no change??? Any help at all please. Thanks bum your vids are helping me loads!

I would monitor it for a couple of weeks and adjust as needed. But your best bet is to reach out to Brightwell since it is their product.

I like the snippets, thanks. In a different note: I am surprised the idea that bubble algae will "release the spores" and spread if you pop it is so present in the hobby. Is there any research that can actually confirm or deny this idea?

It doesn’t make any sense otherwise emerald crabs or any herbivores that eat it would spread the algae when they chew it. Sounds like an old tale from those who couldn’t keep it away.

I have heard mb7 and dr tims refresh together works on cyano. What product is the same or replaces dr tims refresh? Would that be clean. I read to dose mb7 daily then dr tims once weekly! I think a brs video!

Great videoi am having a problem with some kind of alage or film that is growing on acrylic frag racks them smothers out my zoas! Its only on the and the new ones and no where else intank but glss right in front of them. . In one tank coraline took over and its gone but my other tank wont grow coraline for some reason and I cant get rid of it even with chemi clean! What could this be and how to treat. I dose mb 7 weekly! i also dose clean weekly. after mb7 didint work or chemi clean. I think I could have introduced it to my new frag tank too! Also peroxide gets rid of it temporaryly and comes back on zoas. I have a rubble bottom frag tank. I waited 3 months after cycling to turn lights on and its allover the rocks/rubble. How can I know if its cyano or just diatoms? It it to young to add chemiclen too a new frag tank? I just strated a 2 week regime of dosing clean daily! Hopefuly that works. I was dosing 1 x per week! I might have screwed up because he said not to add both in a less then 6 month old tank and i have added mb7 a few times too!

Can you use bacter 7 and clean together as I restarted my tank with cycled rock after out of control hair algea. I flushed the whole system and now started with clean to boost the bacteria in the tank and thought to also start the bacter 7 is that good or not?

Brightwell only recommends using both CLEAN and MB7 on established tanks at least a year old.

Should filter socks/polishing pads be removed while dosing MB7?

No the bottle does not say that, it does say to turn off UV and protein skimmer

Yes, you should remove filter socks. You can keep a general pad that catches excess, food, etc. but a filter sock has the potential to affect the bacteria.

@@hurricaneaquatics I would think the amount the filter sock catches is negligible, bacteria is just to small. And by the time it got to the socks it already got on your rock, sand, tank walls, and pipes. he says in the interview that it immediately sticks to surfaces it comes in contact with. I would assume that's why the bottle does not talk about socks. Unlike Dr Tim's that does mention the sock. Dr Tim knows his stuff so do w/e lol

No, he would say we make our products in house.
