Whether you want to believe it or not. An active father is important and needed in EVERY home. It's just a certain element that he brings when he is there. Salute to all the fathers holding down the fort.

This build was dope. My father (RIP) was in home but was a worker. I saw him get up everyday at 330 a.m. to drive a bus and deal with other people's nonsense to come home and collapse. I never judged nor resented him bc through him working I was able to move different and have things alot of kids around me didn't have. Any mistake I made, I MADE!! Blaming him for the things I did was some sucker shit. But that's my story.

This got way real, mayne. My Pops was all the way down. He was home every day, sometimes picked us up from school. He and my Mama were married and had a great relationship and made a good home for my sisters and I. He always took us places and helped us with our homework and taught us about how to think and move in this world. I am so thankful for the time I had with him… But at the same time I know he had side babies from another woman across town (before I was born), and seeing how they turned out without him being as involved with them as he was with us was very sobering.

I was blown AWAY with Loon's story just bc I wasn't expecting it to be so close to what I just experienced with my own parent trauma/drama. My "Mother" told me just at 38 that the man who never spent a second with me if she was not there, or never had a birds and bees talk or never made sure I achieved what I wanted out of life...never spoke to me when I was hurt or discouraged etc....was not my father. Then told me "Fathers are not important" Then when I asked her why she waited till I was damn near 40 to tell me this she continued to lie. Whole time I got the truth from someone else. Can't make this shit up. Every household is not healthy. Loon thank you for sharing this.

The question of “ what did it cost yo?” is so powerful and his answer was outstanding All Fathers should listen to what he is saying about being absent and just being a provider to children. That’s not the only Role of a Father. A mother provides also and she is mostly the present one laying down the gavel, raising and. Nurturing the child.

My father was a provider and present on the weekends, family vacations, basketball practice, daughter father conversations, brother's baseball games, season passes to amusement parks, and was heavily involved when my son's played little league, and high school... It's difficult when you have a traveling career, but human beings carve out time for whatever they want to do...If you have a traveling career have the child flown to you if only for a day. Move your hotel away from the entourage and only take security with you for safe child parent time. We have to make it happen they need us..I thank God for my father's presence and safety everyday. Having my father present gave me a high level of self confidence..I was never the girl that melts cause a guy told me I'm pretty...My father told me I am beautiful everyday, so going forward I needed no validation from any other man about my looks, so he had dive deeper to hold my attention. Beauty fades, but a beautiful spirit and soul is eternal....✊🥰💯✨

My father was in the home my Mother & Father were married & had five children. Our Mother discipline us & helped us with our homework etc… as we got older we Learned that our father couldn’t read or write & that’s why he couldn’t help us, but he was still our provider & protector. So brother you may think he didn’t do anything for you, but one way or another he was there. We never got hugs, kisses or I love you, but they showed us by taking care of us or going to bat for us. Making sure we did the right thing. We had what we needed & I’m thankful for the parents we had.

This was a great build. So many thoughts and memories evoked. I was fortunate to have a great stepfather as well as my biological father . My parents were young and didn't marry. They separated and I later gained a stepfather who taught me and my bro well. Its not easy for a child or a mother to be without a father in the home. Society today is crumbling from too many drone homes.. that's unmanned.

That is what i tell people all the time no matter what make sure that you always be a dad to your children. Be active and involved in your children life. Many people think that just providing financial security is what is important but to a child that don't mean ish. You can be living in the same household as your children married to their mother and still be an absent father. Never be an absent father. It is the love/attention/discipline etc.. that children are looking for from their dad/parent.

That is so true man. My father was around even though he had his issues, he was the protector and taught me a lot of different things that I needed growing up. He was missing a lot when he lived with us, but they were still a balance between him and my mom when he came to raising us. When he left, I was 12 and during those teenage formative years, I was definitely lost. So I’m a little bit during that time, but not a lot. Missed a lot of things from him that I needed during those teenage years.
