What turned me away from the church was similar to what Loon says turned him away. What turned me away from the church was because there’s too many politics in the church. You can get appointed to any position just on the strength of you either being related to someone or how much tithes and offerings you give the church. Then there’s the money, I feel when I go to church I’m paying a cover charge just to attend. Like has anyone ever sat back and thought like what does God need money for??? He’s the creator of all things why does He need all this money? It certainly isn’t because it’s the only way he can bless me. The Lord wants your time and attention but the church makes it all about money and not enough of how to build your relationship with God and how to pray. What I witnessed in the church was so fowl and even the mothers of the church are to blame as to why people coming off the street to join a church wind up back on the street soon after. As far as Sunday School OMG not sure if this was a place to learn the word of God or the place to be lead astray. We were taught that once the Lord bless you he can’t take it away because He’s not an indian giver 🤦🏿‍♀️. Then after Sunday school they asked for an offering smh. I can go on and on as to why so many people are turning away from the church, you’re supposed to be leading people to God not judging what they wear, obviously if they’re coming off the street they’re not going to have options. Help them get bathed and dressed if it’s an issue. The church doesn’t even provide for their saints, just take their last and if they don’t have their last for gas or or rent it’s just oh well ask the Lord to bless you smh. Lordy so I understand where Loon is coming from.

I feel you on what you are saying but I dont think the Lord literally needs the money. It's more of a symbolic sacrifice as a believer. The offering also goes towards noble causes such as helping those in need, the upkeep of the church, funding of charitable causes etc. Now I'm not saying there isn't corruption in the church where sometimes the money is siphoned by bad people but if you give it honestly from your heart, then that's what is most important. But at the end of the day, if you don't feel comfortable with what the church stands for, we're all entitled to having our own objections

The money aspect first started in the early church so that funds could be distributed to the widows and others who really had a need. Before I support a church with money I ask is this place giving to the poor. Is this place giving back into the lives of the youth which takes finances to build them to push them. Is this place creating a space to build followers into leaders or is the only person who living in the blessing is pastor and his family?

You seem to have missed the whole idea he was bringing forth. He basically said in the Bible God's first commandment is to not bow down or worship anybody or anything besides him. Yet in Christianity we are taught to bow down and worship his son (and kinda bow down and worship the cross too) . He also said he questioned why the Bible said Jesus prayed and he asked to whom was Jesus praying if Jesus is God himself. He said he could not get answers for those questions. Jesus died on the cross yes, but he didn't stay on the cross. Worship and bowing down is a sign of obedience to God, we cannot look into the face of the father because he is Holy we are nowhere near Holy so we would persih before him. It's a sign of respect. God never said to bow to his son. We pray to Jesus because he is our interpretator to get God. No one comes to the father but through his son. The Sam way if someone wanted to get in touch with your dad or mom and you the only one who holds the # to call they have to come through you to get it to them. Like I said before "RELIGION" man made. Every religion someone is bowing down. God said not to idealize materialistic things that are worldly. Which is man made. Well the Jew's do not believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. They still believe their Savor has not come yet. Jews still follow the law… Jesus fulfilled the law. To b Christian is to believe that when Jesus rose from the dead, he fulfilled the law……. To add on this was a big deal in the Roman Empire… Jews payed taxes to Rome, Caesar was God in the Roman Empire and you payed to him. Christians believed Jesus was their God and refused to pay taxes to Rome. Christianity was outlawed in the Roman Empire for 300+ years after Jesus rose from the dead. They publicly executed them during that time also. If those first Christians did not believe they saw a resurrected Jesus then why would they spread and force something on their families and loved ones that could get them killed
