Toros are built here in my hometown and I know a lot of people who work there. I have to say, from a labor standpoint, if that means anything to you, Toro treats their workers without much appreciation or respect. My daughter works for a Bad Boy dealer and she sells a lot of them. Most of the Bad Boys now come with the Kohler engine because the Kawasaki engines were not available when the demand was too great. In my personal opinion, I would always buy the Bad Boy.

@@chainsawFirewood89 I'm sorry, I've got to call you out on this. If there is any question about contraction words just say all of the words out loud. "There made in" --> "they are made in" -> "there" is indicating a location, "they're" is the contractions of "they are". To complete the set, "their" is the possessive of 'they'. This error is getting out of hand on the internet. That being said, I appreciate your opinion on the mower. I'm shopping for a new one and I'm not familiar with many of these ZT brands.

I bought a Toro SS5000 7 years ago and I’ve had nothing but problems with it. Repairs to 2-4 times a year. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Bad Boy so next time I need a mower I’ll look into them.

Yup the Toro had double brackets on the wheels on the deck. To me that is a big deal.

I have the zt elite with a Kawasaki engine. You have the choice when you buy the zt elite. I have had John Deere from dealers not home Depot, Husqvarna with the welded deck, craftsman ect. After owning the zt elite for 3 years, I will never buy another brand of mower again.

The big difference on the transmissions is that on the Bad Boy the 3100 is serviceable where the 2800 on the Toro is not…

You can service the ZT2800s. The EZT2200s are not serviceable.

I bought the 24 Toro Timecutter 42’ inch with the Briggs EXI 2200 from my local dealer a week ago, and they told me they service. I haven’t even used it yet cause I was already thinking of returning it for something else.

@@GiveMeLibertyOrGiveMeDeath1776 The machine can certainly be serviced, but the 2100 and 2200 transmissions are use to failure and then replace. Serviceable transmissions like the 2800 and 3100 can be serviced by themselves with oil and filter changes so they will last much longer.

The ZT has the front "suspension" which is just the round rubber shock absorbers, it might not seem like much but it does help.

The bad boy has a 3100 transaxle system I guess you call it. It is serviceable the 2800 on the Toro is not

Hey Matt, As usual you do a good comparison helping us understand the differences. Looking at the Titan, notice it now only has the SINGLE shock MyRide system. I have a question, Will a true suspension seat work as well as the SINGLE shock MyRide? Looks like changing to the SINGLE shock MyRide is a downgrade vs the TRIPLE shock system that they started with, what is your opinion? Thanks,

There are still shocks under the seat that are placed horizontally, there is more than one spring.

Good video !!! Good review video ! What is the maximum deck height on both these mowers ??? ? I am having a problem with finding a mower with a deck height pass 5 inches. So far , the only one a know is the Scag with a 6 inches cutting height.

I have a bad boy 61”. Anything other than perfect grass mowed everyday it leaves uncut grass behind. Huge issue with these mowers. Huge bummer for me. Mower has under 300 hours. BTW…blades are sharp, tires filled with air, no bent frame, deck adjusted properly. Just doesn’t cut anything above 6” of grass. Look it up. Not the only one with this problem. Guys have changed PTO clutches to fix this. I do have to say, other than that it’s been a good mower and is very good on hills(for a zero turn).

Go with bad boy. Bigger trans that is serviceable. A much more sturdy deck, and the suspension is much better. You simply can’t beat bad boy options at the price range. Nobody even comes close.

They are owned by Briggs and Stratton I think. B&S also owns Ferris and one other company that I forget the name of (simplicity?). They are around, but I think the Ferris brand is their concentrated marketing strategy right now.

Agreed. I just bought a Maverick. I replaced my Toro SS5000 I bought 7 years ago. The Toro I replaced constantly had problems. I’ll have to wait and see what my final verdict is on the Bad Boy Maverick from what I’ve seen online it looks like it’s superior in everyway. And also, I know it’s not fair to compare an Toro SS5000 to a Maverick.
