This whole album has hit me soooo hard . We moved to NY when I was 8 . And I only went back a hand full of times. Not nearly enough . But every time I go back I feel I’m home. And this whole album brought back so many memories. I’m 48 now and I can’t honestly say this album gave me the same reactions she had . I cried I laughed I got mad . Crazy what music can do . This is the most genuine and sweetest reaction I’ve seen to this song. As a person that has experienced so much death and tragedy in my life, I cried when I heard this song for the first time. It made me think of all of the people that I’ve lost. He is so right. Hug your loved ones tighter, tell them all of the beautiful things you feel for them, make them feel appreciated and take LOTS of pics with them. Life is incredibly short and unpredictable. Thank you for sharing your reaction. My mom moved from Vieques, to NYC due to the bombing and moved us back to PR when my youngest brother got out of diapers. She died a couple years later when I was 11, and all I have are my memories of her stroking my hair while we both watched TV in our house in Carolina. December 89 she passed and we left PR back to NYC. We didn't have a camera when I lived in PR so I don't have any photos of the times when I lived there. Benito has a unique way of connecting with all Puerto Ricans and transplants. Had to put my feelings into words because your reaction is exactly how I reacted. The nostalgia soothes the soul, and nothing but happy tears fall.

This song pulls on my heart strings so much. Soy Boricua de Brooklyn babyyy! So many memories of my family being together rush through my mind and I regret that I don’t have photos to relive those moments. Some people have passed, some moved on and I wish them the best. This album, the short film, and this song made me realize that I should be taking more photos. Sometimes we go through our lives and don’t think to stop and capture the moment just for a second so that we can relive them again. Love the channel, a Puerto Rican who moved to the US because my father was in the Navy, a child who struggled to fit in, couldn't speak English, no friends (held back in school because of this). I lost the linguistics growing up but over time as an adult I got it mostly back. I know my ma and pa miss home every day and so do me and my brother. So much family back home in PR. The photos of our past, of loved ones on the island we grew up with always brings back such lovely memories. LOVE YOU PUERTO RICO! Thank you for this reaction!

But, most people miss the point, altogether, When he sings the song, Is it about a girl or in that girl Borinquen, that is being assimilated, parted and sold for parts to foreigners. Think of it in that context, when you listen to each song. We should have taken more photos to remember what is was, because in a few years like the quesito with no cheese, there will be a Puerto Rico with no Puerto Ricans, then all that is going to be left is the name, like an empty shell and some folcloric clowns dancing for the tourists. We are being slowly assimilated. Just watch the news about how our governor is setting things up to help sell Puerto Rico to rich foreigners.

I love your takes. I wept when I heard Aguinaldo and Plena because I am the son of a Jibaro from Añasco. I was born and raised in the U.S., but we spent many summers in PR (Añasco y Bayamón). We also spent a lot of time in Indiana and Michigan with our Jibaro family there. Pitorro was always in the house. My father would play Aguinaldo and Plena all the time. My mother cooked only PR food until I was much older. The Bayamón (Mami) side of the family was always at our house. I miss Abuelita and the old days so much. This album hits hard. House and Dembow and Reggaeton and Trap over Aguinaldo, Bomba and Plena and Salsa. Bad Bunny proved we don’t need to give away or sell our past to move in the future. They’re bumping OURS in Germany and Iceland… everywhere… and it’s uncut. Cuidado con “Lo Que Le Pasó A Hawaii”. You’re gonna need more tissue, my sister. ¡Un abrazo!

But also this is plena music. A very old music genre from PR created 9n 1920 in the Puerto Rican town of Ponce. normaly i dont like BB's music becasue he talks dirty and also glorifies sex, drug an other stuff. But from time to time he has some goos lyrics.But this plena is amazing....
