Just saw you on my Feed. The intro is homage to El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico as a subliminal message of Loyalty to PR. The back story is Rafael the Conductor of EL Gran Combo were offered into the FANIA All Star back in the 1970’s along with the GOATS like Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Ismael Miranda etc. Rafael politely declined the offer for El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico to join FANIA and stated the group will remain the institution of Puerto Rico. I think a lot Boricuas who were born in PR and migrated young or are of the first generation born in the U.S. will react similarly to this album, and you can forget about it if you’re of a certain age.
