Totally amazing ,how can people knock Chad's builds , he builds cars on a budget and turns out incredible works of art like this ! people should give him the respect he deserves .

Chad, check you adjustment screws on the carb. It's running really rich. When you drove out, the exhaust was really black. I hope this helps.

Its a miracle its running on 3 year old gas. With the ethanol added it absorbs water which sinks to the bottom of the tank and corrodes up the fuel system as its the first thing that gets sucked up in the line. I used to have to clean my carbs out on a yearly basis to keep it running on this trash fuel. Beautiful car!

Your bowl inlet needle valves are probably stuck open and dumping fuel in the intake, common when sitting for long time. Do the tap screwdriver handle on bowl housing trick and see if it clears up. Too late I'm sure, but Ford carbs seem to like to stick the needle and seat so it doesn't close. Pours gas into the engine and it only runs well with the gas on. Either that or clean it out with a fast run up the mountain. This is one beautiful machine, and I didn't even notice the Bug hood until you pointed it out. Second the Drive Time idea, sitting isn't good for these cars and invites the rodents. Look into dealer plates so you can swap 'em.
