I would always watch ( and still do) your new reaction late at night during my most difficult times. "Turn on your light" = "Open yourself up to me ... give me the "go ahead"". He also says in the song that when he feels like a little lovin' (When I want to Rock Steady), he has to prepare himself (I know, I've got to get ready) to relax so he will enjoy it, and he's telling the girl this to get her in the mood, so she will open up and let herself relax and enjoy it ... then, once that's done, they can rock steady (make love, and keep it going).

Lex is on to this one. Gotta remember this band came out early 70's and the Sexual Revolution was still going strong. The messages in music was not explicit and the artists used double entendres and vague lyrics to get the feeling across. I agree with Lex, he's talkin' about music and getting busy.

It's a sexual innuendo song. "Turn on your light" is a signal that she's ready for his lovin'! The debut Bad Company album was released in 1974 on Led Zeppelin's newly formed Swan Song record label. They were the first artists signed. Btw, the entire album is excellent. Not hard rock; not soft rock...it's what was known as "p*ssy rock" because girls like me were into them. Remember, this was about a decade before the hair metal bands of the 80s.

For those commenting about the HOF: They only let a few in at a time, and there are a hell of a lot of other bands that aren't in yet too. The major game changers of mainstream rock are pretty much all in: Sabbath, Zeppelin, Beatles, Metallica, Nirvana etc. Bad Company are indeed a great classic rock band, but they weren't exactly game changers. Are they a shoe-in? Of course, but like I said, there are only a few slots each year and a thousand deserving, eligible artists.

Not everyone can be in the Hall of Fame. It has to mean something. If you just let anyone in, then it means nothing. I think the reason they aren't in there is because they weren't really revolutionary or influential and there were just too many others with both those qualities to contend with. With that said, I think they are an amazing band, especially so with some of their lesser played songs, but again, it has to mean something...
@mikecunningham6154 Жыл бұрын
@@MundoDragon it's because the rock 'n'roll hall of fame is a joke!!! It's taken them a long time to get bands in there that should have been in there a long time before they were.
