I wasn’t sure if I should post this video.. I had a bad customer service experience in Chanel lately and the latest interaction was the last straw. I know I haven’t mentioned it before, but I feel like I should address this. Plus my lovely friend has inspired me to do it.
Did you guys have any issues with Chanel customer service before? How did you handle it?
Anyway, I also went to Cartier. My friend is considering getting a Juste un clou ring before the price increase that is taking place in Singapore on the first of September. I checked out a few bracelets and rings.

Being in retail for 40 years, both in managerial status and as an owner, let me tell you, that attitude is unacceptable. Either email or speak to customer service or manager of that particular store. Explain the situation...if you don’t get satisfaction you desire contact corporate. The merchandise is not the only draw of Chanel. Extreme customer care, decor and cleanliness and service is a priority. Every customer is special...do not let yourself be treated that way.

Being that you are a valued Chanel customer you should let the management know of your bad experience, regardless of if the sales associate was having a bad day or not she should not have treated you or any other customer poorly.

Her attitude is totally unacceptable, you are a paying customer and very polite and should be treated accordingly. I would contact her manager and mention all instances of rude behavior and demand rectification of the situation. If again you are brushed off or not taken seriously i would file an actual written complaint. You pay for their salary by purchasing in that boutique so she needs to come off of her high horse, she is there to serve you, end of!!! Never let them bring you down or ruin your mood, you are such a kind person and do not deserve this

Wait, wait, wait...SHE GAVE YOU A SOAKING WET SHOPPING BAG? Wow! That’s the most passive aggressive thing I’ve ever heard of! Wow! You know, I wouldn’t take it personally. She probably deals with really entitled bossy condescending people everyday. Because you have such a nice disposition, she knows she can get away with treating you poorly. Maybe call her manager and complain. I know VCA sends out an email after a visit wanting to know how it went. Does Chanel do the same thing? (I can’t remember, I’ve only been to a Chanel a few times). Anyway, maybe you could send a complaint to corporate. I’m sorry that happened to you! I hope you have a better experience next time.

Dior used to be bad. I went to pick up something for my boss in Dior and tried to look at the clothes. The SA was very worried about me touching the clothes and finally I just sat down and remained unmoved. Meanwhile I overheard that SAs told other customers that sometimes customers ask their servants to pick up clothes. To my ears, it is a rude comment. They had no idea that in modern time, social ladder is easier to climb. What is more, my job back then required certain qualification. And now, even though I can afford it, I do not want to be part of the snobbish group.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I have been Chanel San Francisco customer for 5 years. My first SA was not too warm, so I changed her to someone else, then the new SA was bad. So I went back to my original SA and since then she is good and tries to respond quickly Overall SA are better in Chanel Neiman Marcus than the standalone boutique. You usually get the survey, you should give your honest feedback.

It wasn’t all of Chanel. It was one SA. If you don’t make your concern heard by management, they can’t fix the issue to improve service. I’ve never had issues with any of the Chanel boutiques. I have at LV, but made them aware of the issue. The only brand that I find doesn’t care about customer feedback, in my experience, is Hermès. Could care less. They want the SAs to drill ppl like you’re taking an SAT before they release the Birkins or Kelly’s. It’s ridiculous. Not my cup of tea bc it seems bad CS to me. Some folks don’t mind it and actually study the brand for the appt/exam. To each his own.

You shouldn’t get poor service anywhere really but especially in these types of stores but it’s always disappointing when you do no matter how small the difference is in the service, especially when you’re used to a certain standard. I have to buy everything online and over the phone from my SA’s and I feel that although they are very lovely to me but I don’t get the same service that I would if I was able to go into store. Just little things, like sometimes they won’t even put a ribbon on let alone add the magazine to my package or a shopping bag when I’ve just bought a special limited edition bag or something like that 🤷🏼‍♀️ it sounds entitled but it’s just disappointing when you see others getting limited edition packaging with all the trimmings is all.

Bravo for your forthright sharing! No you are not the only one. I have not met a Chanel SA in Singapore who is keen to serve and forthcoming with information. It's like take it or leave it kind of attitude and you need to know what to ask for them to show you the products - machines can do that haha. Usually I prefer to buy Chanel bags overseas but due to Covid and my obsession with the bags I "tolerated" their arrogance. It's a totally different experience at LV even though I do not buy as many or often. Thank you so much for the information on Cartier price increase which I am not aware of. I completely agree, you are expected to know exactly what you want and if you change your mind, you will never get offered the item again. It’s quite disappointing, because I love their designs 😔 I checked about the price increase at VCA, my SA said that they aren’t having it yet 😅 at least this brand is not squeezing us in the middle of a pandemic

Yeap I agree, when you ask an SA to reserve an item, it would be best to think hard and be at least 90% confirmed about your purchase. Then when the item comes, you should be prepared to purchase it. Thus for customers that come in to view, they will not see the hot n popular items. However, the Sa will still give good services.

Yea the Chanel customer service at Ngee Ann city (not sure if that is the branch u went to though) is really bad. As a Singaporean I must say that I have had way better service in the Chanel stores in Paris

Thanks for sharing. I have been considering a JUC ring for my middle or pointing finger also. Also in yellow gold. Maybe when we are able to travel again. I had one bad experience at Chanel in one of the Vegas hotels. All the SA completely ignored me. As I was leaving a SA came from the back room and asked if she can help me with anything. She was very nice and I did buy 2 bags that day. But I wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for her. I can’t remember which one now. But it wasn’t Bellagio. The SA are very nice at Bellagio Chanel.

I had the same experience with the Chanel SA. Purchased 5 bags from her and finally had enough with her and Chanel. So sorry you had the similar experience. I know how you feel. That is really odd, if you have a relationship with an specific SA at Chanel they should be happy to see you and treat you with respect ALWAYS. Perhaps your SA was having an off day, but that is really not a good excuse to treat a customer, especially one that has purchased with you before like you were treated 😞. I know times are difficult now, but this is not the experience anyone should have or put up with! On a positive note the Cartier Just un Clou with diamonds is gorgeous! TFS!

I’ve heard other people mention bad customer service at Chanel. I’ve sworn off buying bags but I love the shoes and Jackets. I just purchased a lovely pair of boots and the SA was wonderful. It should be unacceptable that any brand (small or big) treat costumers with contempt or any level of disrespect , period. hence my decision to not pursue a Birkin a.t.m, I simply cannot put up with the psychological demeaning treatment most Hermes SA's offer new customers :( On the other hand, I feel very lucky that with Chanel here in London, I am treated with the utmost kindness and attention by all my SA's. I had a similar bad experience at Ngee Ann City Chanel boutique. I made a purchase and after the transaction was over, the SA just signaled that I could leave the store and completely ignored me like I was transparent. She was utterly rude and I am really disappointed. I have since shopped at MBS, which I think have a much better service (at least for the few I met)...

I hear you about needing to be able to take off your bracelets. I don't wear my Love bracelet for that reason...I found it creeps me out as it feels unsafe as it makes me think about that if you hook it or catch it on something you can get injured or there is an emergency of some kind. I think my wrist is claustrophobic if that's a thing 🤣 And it feels too heavy. I have the small and don't get the same reaction from that. Looked at JUC several times the small and regular size and never liked it enough although I like how it looks on other people. Love your shopping vlogs and sorry for the rude SA at Saks. ❤️

I see you were at Ion. When living in Singapore I always went to Takashimaya and the Chanel ladies there are very helpful. I could easily sms with them and had a very sweet lady as main contact.

The (very tiny) Chanel store in my city is no better 😂 I never go in anymore after twice being shamed. I’ve had bad experience with LV in Paris too.... so bad I almost give up on them. Lucky for me, the LV, Hermes store in my city are good to me. Hope you encounter better.

I did not like the customer service in Ion Orchard. The SA that was assigned to me was not that friendly. (she would not show me all the brooches). I prefer the one in Marina Bay Sands. They were a lot nicer. Chanel Customer service was definitely far more superior in Bangkok, Seoul and San Francisco!

NO, my personal SA was always so sweet and helpful and fun. Geesch. What a weird experience. The only bad experience was when my regular SA wasn't there and I stopped into CHANEL and the SA that paid any attention to me wouldn't let me hold any of the bags I was interested in and instead held the bag close to her and told me how much it cost. So of course, I was so stressed out, it wasn't fun and I left and just from then on, knew to only ask my own SA for stuff! XO! Stay sweet! You're beautiful inside and out.

Don't let a rude salesperson define your behavior. Its happened to me also at a Gucci store. I had to have the manager wait on me. And yes I brought the item I came in to buy. Just ask for a new SA or the manager, buy what you want,move her to the bottom of the heap.

I am done with Chanel. Out of 4 shops I have been, only 1 was a good experience. The SA’s feel “privileged “. I just had a bad experience today, I was about to pay when She said that she doesn’t have a box for me then no felt either to protect my bag. I can understand if they really don’t have it but she was dismissive and said do you want to return it then? Of course I said yes I will return it coz it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get their bag!!! Dior has a 1000% way better customer service! Dior can take my money anyday…

Chanel is very well known for their terrible customer service, I’d say it’s straight up part of their marketing strategy, nothing like treating someone poorly to make sure they keep coming back to prove themselves... I know it sounds bad, but since their items are highly coveted, it is surprisingly effective. Same goes for the ‘scarcity’, all of the sudden people have this need to have something they were perfectly fine without before. I love luxury, I love to have nice things, but I also understand the games these luxury fashion houses play, to me it’s all part of the fun. I do however draw the line at expecting you to share a dressing room with your friend (how trashy is that) & giving you a dripping wet bag, therefore risking damaging your items (that would never be okay, anywhere, ever), I wouldn’t bother with that particular store anymore.
