Today was 3 weeks and 2 days. It was my worst day! Emotionally drained and physically exhausted. I am happy I found you. Thank you so much. I try to stay off the pain meds as long as I can. Then I take them and sleep. My longest sleep is 2-3 hours. I feel like a wimp.

There are more bad days than good days in the beginning. I swear it does get better and soon you'll have more better days than bad ones. I'm shocked you're still on meds 3 weeks in?? Hey everyone is different. Sleep is an issue for most people. Don't compare yourself to anyone because not everyone is the same as you. Just focus on healing and staying positive. Be focused and don't lose sight of your vision of becoming 100% healed brother. YOU'RE NOT ALONE!!!!!!!

It’s tuff brother. I’m 2 weeks out of my surgery. And it’s been Brutal. I started physical therapy the day after surgery. It’s my second shoulder surgery first one was two years ago on my right side and now I got my left side done. But as far as physical therapy goes my doctor had me there the day after surgery the first day in therapy they took the bandages off and re-bandaged it with clean bandages. Did a slight stretching exercise but that was it. The second day which was two days later the real physical therapy began and I’ll tell you it’s not fun but it is necessary. I think you should have been in therapy a lot sooner than you actually went. But I hope you are doing better brother and good luck

Having your 2nd surgery is massive respect. Just 1 for me was brutal. I am much better now, from being recovered 99% then had a setback at Sept 2021 due to a foolish no sleep schedule . Now I'm working back to 99% again and it's going to be a bit but I'll get there just as you will. Keep doing you stay strong. You did it before and you will do it again.

I fractured my shoulder about 3 weeks ago. It has not been easy for me, but your videos have helped me. It has been two years since your surgery. I sure hope you are doing well and that your shoulder is back to its pre-surgery mobility.

I'm happy to hear that Margaret, I hope you are much better than you were. I am going through a different battle now with my neck which is causing some shoulder issues but I hope to get through it as the days go by. Thank you for your kind words and it will help me get through. Keep me updated on your progress!

What workout regimen did you do up to this point? For my surgery two weeks ago I had two 100% rotator tendon tears , one 50% and a outer torn bicep tendon repair all done at once. I returned to work 5 days post op as a restaurant manager. No working out just yet but you inspired me to do body squats and calve work at least moving into WEEK 3

Bro, i am so damn scared going into surgery because i never had one and i dont want to screw my right hand because i like to play the piano. Did you try PRP before going into surgery? I might try that first since i have only 4mm partial tear but if this doesnt work, i would probably end up in a surgery.

Didn't know why I didn't get the notification for you comment. A partial tear if it isn't bad can be left alone with physical therapy as you strengthen all the other muscles around it. I never wish surgery on anyone so I don't you don't have to either. For many, physical therapy is enough. But a partial tear depending on where it is isn't that bad. My mother recently had a dual tear on the supraspinatus and she is recovering very well compared to me. Not all shoulder surgeries are extensive as mine. And total shoulder replacements make mine look like nothing.

Got to help yourself and do the exercises at home. Don’t let the pain slow you down. Therapist will push you beyond belief!

I'm having the same issue now where I can't rotate externally. I'm at week 7 - just wondering how long did it take you to get this back and any tips? Love seeing your journey hope things are getting better now. JH

You know... I've seen some people recover extremely fast, whether it be the age, or the severity of the injury and repair. I will tell, personally for me, I couldn't externally rotate at all for 2-3 months but this is very subjective to each person. With physical therapy I was able to start gaining 1 degree slowly. There were weeks where I feel like I got no improvement. The last thing to gain back for everyone is external rotation, so don't even stress it. my flexion and laterals are near 98% and taking forever to get to 100%... my external rotation is the last thing that still may be at 70% but its getting better slowly. I'll be posting my 7 month update in a few days as it is coming up. Keep that chin up, focus on the prize of recovering 100%, time will fly, make sure you do your PT!!! (as for tips for external rotation, I'll post it in the next vid as it is hard to explain)

Inspiring.... I just had my shoulder done ... my shoulder was messed up before in term of the external rotation... dreading therapy but know it's the key
@Resvlive
@Resvlive 3 жыл бұрын
@@md310 this recovery process is challenging for anyone, you will learn how tough you can be, how easy it is to quit.. don't.... When those long nights of doing PT at home alone happen, just know you are not alone... I still am doing PT a couple times a week, still have the same eye on the prize. Ive gained so much more mentally than just a recovered shoulder.. I am certain you will too. Keep me updated on the progress!
