@kimberleylynn Hi Kimberley…I also broke my ankle in the service and have a torn labrum in my shoulder AND hip !! I was so wowed to hear you say that lol !! Ugh…I’m about to have the shoulder surgery also. The radiologist said my rotator cuff is torn also, but my orthopedic says it not 🤷 I just shattered my leg last December, 2 plates and 12 screws. I’m still not over that and it’s sucked mega. I’m going to watch your other videos also. I sure hope your recovery has gone well and you’re doing better? I’d love to hear from you Kimberly and thank you for uploading the videos. ❤️‍🩹 🙏 I pray everyone else here has a great outcome. Stay strong 💪 God bless

Ive had VNS surgery and the nerve block does take several hours and up to two days to get through. Is to take things slow is not to be working or computer work the nerves in your upper areas will feel very tingly and you need to go easy. Upper area survery takes a long time to heal and thr muscles dont heal dont heal overnight .

Good luck! A recliner is definitely the most convenient option but a few nights I slept in bed with a bunch of pillows. Whatever works for you and makes you the most comfortable, there’s no right or wrong!

I had ulnar nerve decompression surgery back in 12/2021. I think it was a 35 minute surgery. I can relate to the nerve block. I had mine in the side of my neck as well. I was pretty much normal later that night.

It's best to follow doctors orders. My doctor specifically ordered Tylenol for the first few days. The ice machine helped more than any of the meds for the pain and inflammation. How long ago was your surgery?

@@kimberleylynn5710 absolutely. Everything I read and was told by people who had gone through it said the pain could be excruciating. I got lucky and had very little pain. Only took pain meds for 2 days. I’m 2 1/2 weeks into recovery and have no pain to speak of.

Have you had any upper neck/trap pain while enduring the labrum tear for those 2 previous years?
@kimberleylynn5710
@kimberleylynn5710 3 жыл бұрын
In the fall when I was putting a lot of stress on it the right side of my neck was very tight and I would constantly get the feeling of a pinched nerve in my neck and down into the back side of my trap.
@randy7425
@randy7425 3 жыл бұрын
@@kimberleylynn5710 oh ok. I ask bc about a month into my diagnosis of a labrum tear in my left shoulder, my left neck/trap started hurting. Got the feeling like it was very tense/knots building up. Has it gotten better for you since you had the surgery?
@kimberleylynn5710
@kimberleylynn5710 3 жыл бұрын
@@randy7425 I had a very similar feeling in my trap as well. After surgery the pinched nerve feeling went away immediately. The knots stayed for a few weeks after surgery, but that could have been due to the trauma of surgery and subconsciously guarding it. A little over 2 months post-op and the knots are gone!

Anyone who takes opioids is at risk of developing addiction. Your personal history and the length of time you use opioids play a role, but it's impossible to predict who's vulnerable to eventual dependence on and abuse of these drugs. Legal or illegal, stolen and shared, these drugs are responsible for the majority of overdose deaths in the U.S. today. -Mayo Clinic
