My best friend's daughter is going through a very hard time in her life. She has been forthcoming about wanting to self harm which is a blessing. But this song hit me hard. I have been in her daughter's life since she was born and now she is 13. I have been in ER with her and followed ambulances to mental hospitals where she was admitted. We need to support anyone who feels like this. If affects the whole family. The saying it takes a village....it affects the whole village. Hugs for you sweet Kalista. Spread love honey!

This is crazy. My friend passed away from a overdose a few weeks ago and she had asked to hangout a week before it happens and i told her no. And I really felt bad about saying no after what happened but you can't blame yourself for it. I felt guilty but you gotta stay positive. This song hits home.

I know it's been a while since you left this comment but I wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost 2 friends and my mom to suicide and it's extremely hard to move past the guilt sometimes. Both friends I lost had each asked me to hang out and I put them off for various reasons. The first one I didn't talk to again and found out what happened when her sister called me. The 2nd friend and I had had an argument on a Saturday morning and she got out of my car at the gas station and called a friend to pick her up. I was super mad so when she messaged me to apologize the next day I ignored it thinking I'd give it til Monday after work and then call her. She killed herself Sunday night so I never got the chance. It's been almost 2 years and I still have days where the guilt is almost too much to bear. I know deep down though that she, like everyone who chooses suicide, had so much more pain inside than anyone could've known and that it's never anyone's fault. It's a mental/emotional illness that they just couldn't overcome and while we can be the reason they may have been angry or sad, we don't cause the malfunction within them nor can we feel responsible for not knowing it was there. Our responsibility is to miss them, never forget them and carry out our lives honoring their memory. Again, so sorry for your loss, friends are hard to lose.

I know this video is a little old but I still want to comment on this. Thank you for the message at the end on reminding everyone about their friends and what we always we wanted to do together. This song is amazing in both Acoustic and Orginal. Another song if you dont mind me requesting is Promise me by Badflower. That song means a lot to me because I have almost lost my mom in march due to an Athsma/COPD attack and she had a seizure. And the song is about losing someone you love. So I just want to thank you for the positive message at the end of the video.

I lost my mom to suicide, too. 2003. Still feels like it happened yesterday. Since then 2 of my best friends committed suicide also. The pain of these losses will always haunt us. Suicide's grief touched us all with the most anguished heartbreak we'll ever know, and it will be with us throughout our entire lives. I'm sorry to you both for the losses you've experienced and wish you peace and love in life.

At thirteen I tried to od on sleeping pills. Muscle relaxers to be exact. Nobody, not even my mom knows, because they didn't do anything but make me sleep for along time. I had struggled for so long with my mental and physical health constantly going downhill, I stopped eating, for physical and mental reasons, started self-harming, all that, and it got so bad so fast. I look back now, a little less than a year out from it and realize how much of a black hole it was, like quicksand. I remember my worst breakdown was caused by the smallest thing but it led to the attempt. The line ”the cutting part was easy, but regretting it was so fu*ked.” is so true, in the moment after I swallowed I realized that it could get better.

I am one, of those who suffer, from suicidal thoughts, this song hits home, has I have (and this is where it gets confusing have failed or failed) have failed at every attempt I have made, to commit suicide, while, failing at every atempt to live, I can truely say, suicide, does not mean, you where not cared about, but you, no longer care for yourself. I could put a barrel of a gun in my mouth pull the trigger, anyways like the song says, I tried it once before! It only continues the same, makes it worse, until you succeed, I am happy, and, also, saddened by this fact.

Everytime I listen to this song, it helps me when I'm in my dark places, because right now I'm dealing with something where my 15 yr old is taking her girlfriend's side in something legally that she's trying to have me charged with that she knows isn't true, because she rather lose her mother over a lie than her girlfriend. I think about it everyday how cause of this I can't speak to, see, can't even go within 100 yards of my daughter because of this, which causes me not to be able to see my 13 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son either, I've contemplated almost daily to take my life just to not have to be in my house alone anymore, I'm disabled but haven't started receiving my disability yet and my ex-husband made sure of taking every single type of income I was receiving away from me, and I almost was homeless Tuesday, if it wouldn't have been for my mother getting a loan for half a year's worth of rent, which I still owe another half, which is putting my bills even more behind because I won't have my mom do without hers because of me, I rather live without lights or water as long as I have a roof.

Honey, I've lost a good friend to suicide too. I'm so sorry for your pain. It's something few people understand. This song has really helped me with my own mental health issues. Please know it wasn't your fault and it's okay to get angry. My friend died 10 years ago and my feelings still change daily from sadness to anger to guilt, but I've been on the other side too. My youngest brother committed suicide just before my birthday in 2005 .. I haven't celebrated it since ..more so to this I haven't been able to deal with it properly because so many questions are still out there ..like why he did it, why didn't he come to me or anyone else for help ... I've just got rage buried inside!!! everyday that's passed since that July day in 2005 things haven't gotten better or easier . Time hasn't helped at all !!
