Biggest shock to me as a Cowboys fan was DQ making ZERO adjustments as the game went on. Quinn came in planning for Josh Allen and the usual 40+ passes a game Buffalo offense and Buffalo flipped it and ran right at them. Rather than adjusting, DQ let the gameplan move forward until the lead was so large, the offense was predictable. I could tell you pre-snap every look Dallas had after the 2nd half started. Our LBs are not LBs. They're safeties. The one true LB we have is now a hybrid DE/pass rusher that refuses and that Quinn refuses to bite the bullet and make Micah play LB. RIDICULOUS

To me it only highlighted the Cowboys issue that they are predominately a front running team that are very good at bullying a team when they are leading - however, it is when they get behind and the run game has to be abandoned and the onus switches squarely to Dak to try and thrown them out of trouble is when they tend to struggle to win games. That is why all this questioning of how great they and Dak are during the regular season doesn't really mean much, we know the Cowboys are a good team in the regular season and will regularly make the playoffs......which is where the real questions are asked of them and so far the Cowboys have failed to provide the answers.

What gets me is how all the coverage of the Cowboys over the past month acted like something is different. But this what the Cowboys always do. They win 12 games. They compete for the division. They make the playoffs. Then they fall apart against the best teams. Rinse, repeat. Looking at their games this season, I don't think they have a road problem. They have a good-team problem. They've beaten exactly one winning team this whole season - the Eagles last week. That was a quality win, but that's it. The starting line for the Cowboys is these games - from the embarrassment against the 49ers that ended last season to this Bill game. Until those games change, nothing is different.

After having listened to several points of view on how to fix this defensive issue, I feel like the Cowboys need to play a 3-4 defense and utilize Micah as a true LB. Having him rush the passer all the time is not effective for the team. When he lines up in the middle he has more impact on the play because of his closing speed and strength. Just my opinion.

The real deference in the game was that the cowboys needed to be more disciplined. They had 4 personal foul penalties on all 4 of the bills touchdown drives on either 3rd or 4th down that extended the drives. not to mention the Cowboys had a clear fumble & recovery that was not reviewed or challenged. that was the deference. That was the separation point in the game, all 31 points for buffalo was hand gifted because of penalties.

Dan Quinn can fix this if he would play Micah in the middle. Let him play Mike LB now. That way he can run side to side and is not easily taken out of the game by running away from him. Plus he can still rush the passer. He did this in college really good. Time to move Micah to Mike.

4:50 - On This "Hop The Back" play, a lot of responsibility still falls on Parson. He's the free runner, and he has to commit 1000% on the back side pursuit of James Cook. In both highlights he's a bit hesitant, probably because most defensive designs don't want you to lose contain. First, coach Micah to go all in on Cooks, or whichever running back it is. If you're worried about contain, drop the safety down to worry about that. Another option is have the safety come down on a back side blitz, and shoot the gaps. These are some wrinkles I thought about it. Now, this is easier said than done, because Dallas never wanted to overcommit and give Josh Allen a big play downfield. However, they underestimated Buffalo's commitment to run regardless of situation. They continued to defend as if Josh Allen had a big play in his back pocket, but that never happened, so instead, they were eaten alive by James Cook.
