After years I could never understood how the police got called on the Clermont twins & Jela when they got mad & rightfully so. Those girls came back to that house with damn near all of their stuff (some designer) thrown into a pool, a tub full of chocolate and/or syrup, and other places & then expected them to not act the way they did. Like BFFR

All their belongings were archived/rare designer pieces. So, many of their items they were not even able to replace. And the twins and jela were screaming for help which is how the police ended up being called. Production wouldn’t give them phones to call family or anybody. They ignored the girls telling them to call the police so neighbors had to. After jela ripped the phone out the wall they didn’t have no telephone line.

Those girls also pissed on their stuff as well. Jela said that she had to throw everything away because mold grew on her things. She also said she had to throw away everything. Nothing was salvageable from what they did. They were very trifling. Both Jela and the Clermont twins brought their entire wardrobe so it was sad.

I have mixed emotions on BGC. I watched it in high school and it did teach me how to stand on my own and defend myself. As I’ve grown however I’ve realised how immoral the show is; taking advantage of young women from bad backgrounds and exploiting their worst attributes for TV (not even going into the immoral ways they’d go about making conflict happen eg. forcing one girl to not take her bipolar medication, allowing property damage ect) granted these women were all adults and could make their own choices but still, the show definitely was designed to bring out the worst in them. Also while I hate to sound preachy or holier then though it does affect the young people who watch the show. In highschool the amount of fights I got into because I was recreating the mentality the girls had is an embarrassing amount. It could’ve been a genuine social commentary on how women even in adulthood can turn vicious under the right circumstances, but never quite took the opportunity. Overall it’s a guilty pleasure show and while I see some of its positive attributes, it was definitely harmful.

i was watching this in elementary school when the first season came out 😭 but eventually i stopped later when they ended the no fighting rule and started letting them just jump people for no reason. it was more entertaining when they made them have jobs and the fights were rare bc they’d get sent home. like you’d know a fight would happen eventually bc the first ep would show a preview and you’d wonder when it’ll happen but the fights became less entertaining and more weird when oxygen stopped caring….

this show really had potential if they stuck to the purpose which is changing the lives of young women who have anger issues and showed a before and after it would have been a great show but they were too lenient and in letting it be unethical. Also the therapist could’ve definitely been someone of colour like… why is Karen being a life coach now.

Ironically this show has been on my mind. Watching the Shenquilla Robinson video, I felt like I was watching a bad girls club episode gone fatally wrong. I’m not blaming the show totally, but I do feel like BGC and world star, has impacted this generation in negative ways. Sure young women have always been fighting and getting in trouble, but the extreme violence this generation was ingesting at an impressionable age, has them believing they can do those horrendous things that was done on BGC with no real consequences. It’s incredibly easy for someone to lose their life in any fight, but when alcohol , drugs, and multiple people jumping on one person is involved there’s a much higher risk of death.

This is so spot on! I’ve seen a lot of people say that BGC always had them ready to fight as well as many fans trying to emulate their favorite bad girls. Aside from BGC, I also think that in general any social media or television platform that showcased drama and violence played a major role in how this generation is today

I know this show was my mommas favorite but I didn't watch it back then but way back in middle school I started watching bgc because the fights how tough these girls are makes me think of (hhm maybe I wanna watch bad girls club and let's see what this is all about) I only watched best moments like Meghan Kristen Tanisha brandi judi natalie and more and really love bad girls club for a reason but all of this goes on is the producers fault they didn't care for anything and didn't say nothing what's gonna happen with the girls imagine me being on reality TV show i wouldn't get jumped let them destroy my sh*t getting bullied and sent home for no reason

It could have still been chaotic and filled with drama but still also had reform and progress made to change his girls like when you watch a TV show it's chaotic as f*** in a fictional TV series and there is drama but the characters still actively grow and develop and become better due to those experiences so it would have still been pretty entertaining but it would have actually been beneficial for the girls and the actual good social experiments seeing how they become a different person after the experience would have been interesting

I definitely watched the first few seasons. I stopped because how many seasons of drunk girls fighting can one person digest? Even though girls fight in real life and jump other girls they're typically younger than the average age of the girls on the show. I suppose there are girls under 25 that do this but at the end of the day some actually grow up. I think it's pretty shitty to hold this show against them 5 years down the line because many have changed but that's society for you. I hate shows like this even the kind that aren't too extreme are just a huge turnoff. I don't watch too much reality TV because it's so staged. I feel for the ones who are older and trying to change and are shunned by society.
