I'm still in the process of discovering all the stuff that you, The Ladybugs, have done plus solo Martina, Vanessa, and Chimytina. I love all of it! You are all so creative with new artistic takes. And plus you're educating me about Latin music like "coração vagabundo" which is a -beautiful- song which I've only heard you two sing. I like your music so much that I signed up to be a patreon contributor. I'm looking to see you play live in NYC once this crazy pandemic thing gets under control. Cheers!

And now I find out that the group is not using patreon. :-(. OK. I'll find another way to help out ... let me know. I'm not a paypal guy LOL.

Never heard the original before today but I had to go find it to see how it compares to this excellent cover... Billie Eilish could take lessons from you girls on the meaning of 'sultry'. Bosso for the win.

You sing well. I just saw you guys on the Collab with Josh. Best cover of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree i've seen. Some constructive criticism from my side would be that it seems like you do best at the beginning of the videos and then fade out a bit as the minutes of singing go by. It's like there's more power in the beginning and like you fade over into singing without putting as much action and mind to it.

I'm afraid the Ladybugs may be trying to court popularity with a public which has appalling tastes. I wish you wouldn't. As an example, I would love to hear how you'd do with the 1945 Hugh Martin song ( usually credited to Martin, Blane, Edens ), "Pass That Peace Pipe."
@techobsessed15 жыл бұрын
What if you made the suggestion on their Patreon? I bet they'd appreciate it! We really don't know why they decided to cover this particular song, do we?
@bobtaylor1705 жыл бұрын
@@eueminhapessoa , it's diminishing the horizons of their art. I don't consider the song they performed to be "art." Art has standards, which though they change with time, persist in being excellent. I'm a big fan of the Ladybugs, and would never be rude to them, but if they court "popularity," they'll kill off what we, their fans, cherish about them. Do you know the song, "Pass That Peace Pipe?" It's got a novelty lyric, but the melody is very Jewish in style, and sensational. Lately, I'd found myself wondering, and imagining, what a treat it would be to hear them perform it. That's not rudeness, that's being a fan, and wanting the people whose work you love to perform at their highest level. Do you consider the melody in this video to be first rate, in keeping with the tradition of the Great American Songbook songs? For that matter, I'd like to hear what they could do with "Sweetheart," also known as "Waitress in a Donut Shop." It's much more recent in vintage, early 70s. Aren't true fans like this? I'd love to have heard how the Beatles would have harmonized "Frankie and Johnny," "Lazy River," and a lot of other things. It isn't rudeness, it's love, and lament that it didn't happen.
