I find detecting very therapeutic.
@MetalDetecting24Ай бұрын
Hello Donald, me too and I think it's much better than just walking through the woods. Although the detecting process is not a task that occupies 100% of our brain, the technical aspect (at least) distracts a little bit from everyday problems. The exercise that comes with it wouldn't be possible without the detecting part either, as there would be no motivation for it.

A very good result to send anyone to their 'happy' place. That crow was certainly at his! Quite a good number of muskett balls too. You must have thousands in your collection, each one unique in their own way. What's your biggest one? X
@MetalDetecting24Ай бұрын
Hello Francesca, thank you very much for watching! You are probably right about the amount of musket balls. The biggest one has the size of a cannonball! 💣 Have a great day!

Very interesting once silver plated copper item. The pattern interests me. If that pattern can be identified from a particular region or time period, you might be able to identify it’s use. Enjoyed the video. See ya next time. ❤LL
@MetalDetecting24Ай бұрын
Thank you very much (once again)! I hope to find out more about it, although it will be difficult. The idea about the pattern is great and probably the right way to go/start.

28:00 what did the bird want 😮..
@MetalDetecting24Ай бұрын
Birds are often laughing at me. My theory is, they know what's in the ground, which for the most part is trash. When they see me, they probably think "look at that fool!"... and laugh. 😥

Hello Neil, thank you very much for the lovely comment and the compliment. I try to focus on the subject, which is the detecting part and share this experience as realistic as I can. I'm glad you like the format, as it's probably not for everyone...👍 Have a great evening!

How far do you usually travel to get to your spots
@MetalDetecting24Ай бұрын
It really depends. Sometimes it's the first best forest close to my city, sometimes I take a train and a bus, than walk... The longest drive was probably over 4h, but it was years ago and a rare exception. Riding on a train is no pleasure in Germany, as most of them are (over)loaded with (often annoying) people, often late, with lots of technical problems. It takes the joy out of every trip.

Hallo MD 24, sehr herbstliches Unterfangen.
