Bad Moon - Ted's Transformation

Title: Bad Moon 1996.
While on an expedition in Nepal, a photo-journalist (Michael Paré) and his girlfriend are attacked by a werewolf that kills her and savagely bites him. The researcher moves back to the Pacific Northwest to live in isolation with his lycanthropy until his well-intentioned sister (Mariel Hemingway) invites him to stay with her and her son (Mason Gamble) to get over the grief of losing his lover. Things soon begin to go bad, especially when the family dog, a big German Shepherd named Thor, just can't accept the werewolf among them, so they decide to fight among themselves.

I think the real Ted was gone after the first time we hear the bones stretching and cracking. The beast was coming out, and that bloodlust and lack of morality along with it. Janet caught Ted at the exact moment when his humanity was starting to slip away, the emotional attachment to his sister and nephew - the true reason for the cuffs - was giving way to animal instinct. I don’t know how much longer he could’ve kept this up if his sister had not caught him at that moment. There was too much crap going on for there not to be any suspicion, if not the correct deduction of the true situation.

DaSticksanStonesClub I'm kind of torn between this werewolf and the werewolves in Dog Soldiers as my favorite in terms of the ones that 'stand up'. The 1980 American Werewolf in London is still the best looking and creepiest werewolf ever in my opinion though.

+The Red Viper dog soldiers, bad moon, the howling, an american werewolf in London, even ginger snaps are the best werewolf movies ever, because they used costume, monster effects and special effects, they do not rely on CGI, which means the actors have something real to work off of, the creature not only is physically intimidating but looks and feels real, and you're not taken out of the suspension of disbelief by noticing how fake the cgi looks.

Janet was the one who put everyone in danger. Ted was against being close to them, even though he thought family love would be enough for him to control himself. He knew he was a danger and that's why he told her "I warned you. I told you I shouldn't be here, but you wouldn't let me go."

The only good thing I can say about this movie is that it's superior to all the Howling sequels but not to the original Howling. Ted's transformation was scary but not as horrifying as Eddie Quist's. When you compare and contrast Bad Moon with The Howling, you'll realize that animatronics look 100 times more realistic than cheap CGI.

he was a nice guy before(kinda), but its like he just cant hold the beast inside anymore! scary but the transformation is the only mistake they made in this movie! its a nice flick, but they shouldv went to practical effects on the transformation, but instead they went full cg and ruined the creepy vibe established but the ww final form and design is super good and scary, they did it right to made practical that a great ww movie, and has one of the most brutal intros of a horror or ww movies ever! that scene when the beast is mauling his girlfriend while he decide what to do, is stuff of nightmares
