This was my second ever review, originally posted in 2009, hence why this doesn't have a title sequence. Needless to say, this was made many years before Paul Walker's untimely passing, so please bear that in mind. This is one of the most heavily re-edited reviews, removing 3m 43s of footage, owing to the fact that I thought this was one of my weakest videos; you can tell I'm very inexperienced, and the movie doesn't give enough material, so the review was a bit dull. Cuts have been made to film clips, but also to tighten up the pacing and editing, and remove some rather mean-spirited gags throughout. Hope you enjoy, and try not to judge too harshly!

I've always been a fan of the FNF franchise. Hell, I've grown up with the franchise but I will admit, the franchise's humble beginnings haven't aged all that well. Sure the 2nd movie is bad but it's a guilty pleasure for me. To see how far the franchise has come from the bland action movie with street racing to one of Universal's biggest money makers in just 16 or so years is crazy. As for Brain, he's evolved greatly from Pluto Nash and FNF 1 to his recent work. Keep up the great work.

+The Unstable Nerd I've been a fan since the first movie, and while the 2nd movie was my least favorite in the franchise, I still enjoyed it. And I love every movie for different reasons. I know a lot of people may scoff at these movies, but I just love them. They're so much fun to watch.

@General Giovanni Personally, I liked the fourth movie. It's not my favorite, but it does pick up where the first and second movies left off. And it has one of my favorite races in the entire franchise. Much as I enjoyed the previous movies, the actual races themselves seem rather weak. The first movie was just drag races. And while realistic, it doesn't really capture the feel of a high octane adrenaline rush when I first saw it. Which is probably why my favorite scenes in the movie was the ones involving the trucks, the climax chase against the two bikers, and the quarter mile races where it ends with Dom corkscrew crashing into a truck (a nice twist I didn't see coming). The second movie had more variety, and by that, I mean it isn't just in a straight line this time, but it's overshadowed by jarring CGI effects. While it didn't bother me as much as I thought, it can be pretty distracting. The third movie, yeah, the drifting looks impressive, but it just didn't excite me up until the third act where Sean and company chase across Tokyo streets and the climactic mountain battle near the end. As they offer some real tension. But other than that, it's just The Karate Kid with Tuner cars.

Despite what Film Brain said about Biker Boyz briefly in this video, about it being a ripoff of The Fast and the Furious, I really don't see it. It's not a fast paced action movie, it's a drama about a guy who's dad died tragically in a street race and his hatred of the biker who did it in his eyes almost ruins his life. What's even better is that we get some pathos for that supposed bad guy played by Lawrence Fishburne, who's genuinely worried about this guy since he was good friend of his father's and doesn't want the kid to get himself killed chasing a dream. It's not a perfect movie, but it's a lot stronger of a movie than The Fast and the Furious. It also has a good message about growing up. The Fast and the Furious, at least the 1st movie, is confusing as hell and I had to watch the director commentary to figure out what the fuck was going on. And even when I did figure it out, it didn't help. There were too many plot holes and dropped plot lines that go nowhere. The romance was decent but was RUINED by the fact there are TOO MANY SONGS. Seriously we keep switching between songs, most of the time in the SAME SCENE. Thank god for the sequels honestly, because at least the later movies are more of a fun kind of bad, as opposed to the original The Fast and the Furious which is just irritating and baffling beyond belief. Oh yeah and there is a VERY unnecessary F slur dropped in the first 20 minutes. I believe it was Vince who said it.

Honestly this is probably my favorite movie of all time and this pisses me off because you hate on a movie because u don’t understand the culture and race world setting in the movie. This movie isnt supposed to be realistic towards the real world, it’s A totally different world where drug dealers, killers, and gang members settle their disputes over races, brilliant.
