tbf GTA5 has had a lot of updates and expansions to the online that made it pretty different to the other GTA games where you needed one every couple years for the missions and new stuff. They just added that to GTA5 instead of making a whole new game. Just ran it like any other MMO.

Well, they better keep 5 going online on the PS4 then. Supposedly, they were going to discontinue the online on the PS4 by the end of 2024. But now since the delay or 6 until two year's later, it's probably in there best favor to keep it going. Otherwise, what's the point? One of the biggest reasons Rockstar reps have said that they won't release it on PC immediately is because "Most PC players don't pay for games at full price". About 1/3 of games are pirated, and many more are sold through 3rd party key sites with questionable access to keys. And I bet that more companies will follow this trend soon enough. While I have seen good reasons for piracy, along the lines of boycotting companies for predatory business practices, or making games available for archiving, I've also seen far more people pirate games because they simply don't want to pay for them. And because of that trend PC players now have to wait 1 and a half years on games

I understand why, just a little frustrating. Unless there’s something I’m missing, I don’t understand why they can’t release it exclusively on a designated platform, like the Xbox app (for example). Especially since there are a ton of people whose PCs put consoles to shame. I know ultimately rockstar is only going to release on consoles at first, but I’d much rather spend the money on a platform I can use ray tracing and dlss within the first month of launch.
