I wouldn't want to be locked down in the Xbox environment on a handheld when there are so many options already that have windows or Linux that you can pretty much install anything you want on them. I play Sony, Microsoft, steam games, Roms and emulators on my ally right now, why do I need a handheld Xbox?

SONY making a new PSP a.k.a. Third gen PlayStation handheld console would be awesome. The public doesn’t mind proprietary storage cards. The problem with the PS Vita was that the price of the proprietary storage cards was way too fucking high. Obviously it would be better if they just used microSD cards, but if they’re going to use proprietary storage, they have to make it the same price as regular SD and microSD cards. $80 for a 64 GB memory card. It’s just way too fucking much and naturally I bought two of them because I have both models of the PS Vita. That being said I spent less than $80 to buy two PS Vita to SD adapters and two 256gb microSD card. I bought both of the adapters and both of the microSD cards for that came out about $72.

@ the PlayStation portal is an accessory strictly made for remote play and can never be considered. It’s on console because of that. The PlayStation portal does not have its own dedicated platform because it is simply borrowing from the PlayStation 5. The PSP has its own games and physical media format with the UMD disc and the PS Vita has its own game format with its own physical media with the game cartridges. The PSP and the PS Vita are capable of playing games independently without requiring a home console connection whereas the PlayStation portal requires 100% of the time a connection to a PS5 console. Therefore, it can be considered an extension of the PS5 and an accessory to the PS5 but it is definitely not part of the PSP family.

Xbox seems to have become the company that pushes the other companies but ultimately making stupid discisions. I dont see them out performing or even taking market from Nintendo because Nintendo relies on their own games and their form factor. I dont see Xbox making anything for a reasonable price that is anything like the switch so they are really just competing against the steam deck and that kind of devices or is all this fuss about a streaming handheld. That would be extremely lame.
