Well, the real bad news is that: Not too many people here on KZbin have ever tried to purchase a brand new jetliner lol. If you want to purchase a brand new Boeing 777-300er or Airbus A350-1000 right now, it may take another 5 years or so to get your first delivery. If you order a Boeing 777x, or the Airbus A350neo right now, it may take you a decade to get it. It is basically a supply-and-demand situation but more complicated. Lufthansa, Emirates, and many financial institutions and leasing companies have already signed their purchase agreements years ago. They signed their agreements without knowing too much about the end products, because they need to consider about many other factors, including their business plan, delivery schedule, and more importantly, financial and discount. You never know their deals. So, if any bad things happen, such as the several issues on the 737 Max, delivery delaying, all the stakeholders will need to work together in order to rectify the problems. It's not like you can just piss off Boeing and walk-in into an Airbus dealer like buying pants from Marshalls or Walmart.

I hope that EASA/FAA outright reject certification. This company needs to be taught a HARD lesson.
@jgnclvgmng54088 ай бұрын
EASA will. FAA will try to do what the government wants, and Boeing bribes them to.
@FlyingNL8 ай бұрын
Why exactly? What if they found their way again with the 777x? Would you still reject certification if it was perfectly safe?
@nickolliver30218 ай бұрын
Why would they reject it because of the company needing to be taught a hard lesson
@FlyingNL8 ай бұрын
@@nickolliver3021 that’s not a reason, really. I don’t disagree with the fact that Boeing has to be thought a lesson, but rejecting an aircraft to do so isn’t the way.
@nickolliver30218 ай бұрын
@@FlyingNL the lesson needs to be taught on the 737 line of the company. The 777x is fine but yes rejecting a plahe that is doing really well in testing does not need to be rejecting

Boeing needs to become a worker cooperative that enables workers to have freedom of speech and puts integrity and quality ahead of short term profit, which the current management accepts as the only goal.

Is the problem just with Boeing or is the certification process so rigorous that it really needs to take this long? If Boeing is the problem, how so? Does it have something to do with being watched more closely this time? Maybe they got used to cutting corners and lost their know-how for going through the process correctly?

Lufthansa's CEO's comments aren't the blow to the program. It's Boeing's failure to delivery that is the blow the to program. Don't make it look like Lufthansa is responsible when Boeing is. I know that's not what you're trying to say, but you need to be clear about these things in your script.
@nickolliver30218 ай бұрын
Its not Boeings own failure to deliver. Airbus should be given the blow because they fail to deliver planes on time as well. Boeing isnt responsible because what problem is there about 777x thats giving it the extra delay if CEO's say its looking more into 2026?

It has always been my favorite two engines jetliner, but these engines look positioned similar to the horrible MAX, they're way in front of the wing, that could cause balance issues as the MAX suffers from.

Well, when cost cutting to make more money for investors starts to take a higher priority than quality manufacturing, what do you expect? Not the first time this management philosophy has led to the opposite of what they thought by requiring a lot of problems that have to be fixed after initial product release costing more money than if they had focussed on quality and safety focussed production in the first place.

I think anyone still ordering Boeing jets at this time is delusional. I cannot see that any improvement can happen with the current management team is in place. Calhoun will stay in charge until the end of 2024. Then, if an engineer is brought in as CEO he/she will need At least 1 year to get the organization changed and establish a different mindset in the workforce. If the currently groomed lady COO and lead candidate, who is another accountant is heaved into power, i doubt we will see much change at all. Currebtly they are still light years away from closer integration with their production and a trustful relationship with their assembly plant staff. I would think that Boeing will need at least until 2026 to get straightend out in a best case scenario. So I think for Boeing the 777X EIS 2026 is a pretty steep target to hit. And having their HQ still in Virginia, despite all the problems and criticisms shows clearly that the company focus is still on lobbying and regulator influencing.
