As long as there is some pattern of increasing privacy people will pay less and less taxes and this increases the burden for those willing to report their crypto holdings and profits. The only way decentralized finance and monero and other privacy coins make sense along with using the lightning Network and mixers would be for those avoiding taxes, as far as the IRS thinking goes. How much should we really honor the honor system? I'm pretty sure there is still an outstanding bounty from the IRS of over $600,000 for anybody that can crack the monero code, and for other privacy coins... Including the lightning Network...

V4 allows for anything to be built on it. A hook is an optional component. Kyc is a function that can be added but as a developer I do not have to include it in the code

Lets not be childish or naive about this. Any gap in the system that demonstrates a loss of control, which in the case of taxation could mean parts of the blockchain, they will attempt infiltration, manipulation and I believe the reason over 80,000 more IRS employees was called for in a bill is largely some effect and spillover from crypto. Many of them will be chain analysts. The IRS doesn't really want cash 2.0 (decentralized blockchain freedom) or you could even say gold 2.0 after FDR stole it from America. I don't think we can use privacy as an excuse to avoid paying taxes. That will be the main argument The more people use crypto to avoid paying taxes the more it will have the reputation of being an avenue of criminality and theft and the more honest people will have to pay in taxes to make up for the crypto people
