In todays video we have a very busy week which mainly consists of boring and getting all the blocks ready for assembly for next week’s interesting videos on some building guys. Meanwhile, we have some bad news!

Just one channel. Put everything there. Whatever you want. If we dont like the content we wont watch. As you probably gathered, the clickbait pisses people off.

Posting the car content is a good way to show practical use of the engines you build. So combining the channels makes sense. It would be interesting to see the other cars your engines go into and maybe get feedback from your clients on their cars.

Lee, put everything on the one channel...The Engines/Engineering & the race cars are all relevant to your business...your captive audience is all in one place, capitalise on this👍.

The second channel content was to my mind ok in the main channel. It adds a bit of light relief to the purely engineering stuff and really is the " other side " to the working relationships in a small business.

Why run two channels when everything can be incorporated in one, if you want to showcase your workmanship then it's all in one place. You build the engine for the BMW on the main channel anyway so including the build and set up of the car makes sense!

A good mix of both would work better for me because I dont watch the other channel as I have trouble watching the 65 channels I am subscribed to. I do watch the main channel every time but would watch it closer with a wider mix of all.

Personally I would stick to one channel lengthen the run time by say 5 mins and add updates on the projects,track days and every day life experiences etc. If you have any major updates eg Isaac's Subaru etc then perhaps an extra video a week? If you were to cut down to the single main channel any content that folks don't like can just be fast-forwarded through by the viewer, surely one channel has to be easier for you to manage and monitor etc? Keep up the good work lads 👍

I would like to see less of talk and more of action, would like to see in detail how you clean the oil galleries out, including sealing them back up, how you fit coreplugs, yes i know how i would go about it , just want to see you doing it , see if you do things different than me, nothing shown for the crank grinding yet, line boring cam journals, inspecting oil pumps, showing us how the variable valve timing works, cover wet belt engines, more on diesel engines , more on valve seat cuitting when the valves are flush with face of head, and the head has to be refaced, fitting turbo casssetes, share knowlege camshafts that have seperate lobes, more about "running in" think that should help you make a good few more voideos.

@laurencehastings74732 ай бұрын
Cut the clickbait!! You run the business and you produce the channel so it's your decision. If the second channel is too much work or hassle just incorporate it. If someone doesn't like the content of an episode they don't have to watch but in my opinion a good variation of content, in small segments, makes it more interesting. I personally haven't subscribed to the second channel because I have so many channel subscriptions I sometimes lose the plot.

When I was an engineering apprentice, I was always told never ever walk away from a machine that is working as anything could happen and cause problems or even injury.
@daddatt20412 ай бұрын
With the lack of money in engineering in the UK (trying to compete with China, India etc.) you have to be running more than one machine most of the time now, without doing that you just can't make enough money. I don't disagree that doing that can cause problems though.

I must vote for both channels. I enjoy the content of each. One for the technical bits, and one for the enthusiasts, and many of us live our auto fantasies watching the E30 and kit car grow. You must realize that a segment of your viewers treat the channel as entertainment, rather than a business growing focus. If you can do both in one channel but I wonder if that isn't traveling back to where people complained, thus starting the whole schism over. You should give think about what entertains your audience vs. What grows the business. Perhaps there's a balance?

Put everything on the main channel but for workshop videos put the word "Workshop" across the top and put "Fun Stuff" for the projects, track days and that sort of content. If you still make same number of videos but on 1 channel the algorithm will react well and promote that channel way more - and that means more views and probably more subscribers.
@smal13932 ай бұрын
Nover looked at the second channel, I liked the mix on the 'old' main channel. If people don't want to watch your personal projects, they can click something else. I see so many youtubers causing themselves so much anxiety and stress over what us the viewers want to see. The way I look at this is: it's your channel, do and show what you want too, it shouldn't matter what we want. You do you, my friend and save yourself from the stressing and anguish. If we like it we will watch, if not we won't. I like your channel, all of its bits and pieces, even the m3 😊.

hi Lee, I've been following the Changning face of Barum Engines for a bit now. while separating the work and play was a good idea at the time as there was plenty of content, at this point in time it seems to be a real struggle to make content. this will change as you get both cars back and you get into the swing of the track days, and Isaac is able to get his Subaru out as well. i do feel that the pressure to put out content to both may not be the best long term health option for you (past experiences). having a dedicated day that LAB is uploaded could ease any pressure to create, and this would also allow for us consumers of LAB and BE the luxury to not be switching constantly. it would also ease the pressure of those not so interested in the out of work activities, to know that on certain days they don't need to get their panties in a twist over what is posted. either way, I'll continue watching and so will many others, no matter the choice.

I've found your second channel to be good. I feel it's proper to do the split and focus on your more personal side of your skills put into use. I think you could add more interest and content by possibly showing some of your work in others race cars. I know that you have had requests to show off some of your engines installed and running. This could be the outlet to do that.

The Main Channel...your bread and butter...just like the Cosworth engines are your business bread and butter. The main reason for my enjoying this channel is how you go through those gems and make them mechanically shine. Any niche stuff you go through, toss it to the specialty channel. I find this much more interesting than what I do...rebuilding Caterpillar industrial engines. Everything with them beasts is just so dang heavy. Lol

Love the way you wind up the click bait haters. As you said, most of the second channel viewers have come from the main channel, so we don’t care where we watch your material. Do a quick analysis of the ratio of subscribers to both channels versus ratio to single channels. If the majority of subscribers are subscribed to both channels then sack the second channel and most of the output can come through to main channel. AND you still haven’t finished the wall above the door you so expertly fitted. It’s a good job you are less slipshod on the day job!
