This song is resonating with me due to a loss of a relationship I've been grieving with since 2020 and I still think about this person to this very day. It was out of our control due to us being long distance. Same thing here man. My best friend and I are caught in this place between love and fear due to the distance that separates us and it’s been a year since I’ve heard from her. I just can’t move on because I feel like my life started on the day I met her. She knows that I’ll always hold her in my heart until I can hold her in my arms. She is my friend first and foremost but she is just so much more than that and also she is the love of my life and as corny as this sounds she is are my other half, and my partner in crime. She knows me better than I know myself. She knows what I like, what I love, what I hate. She support my passions and tolerate my faults. She was always there for me. And it’s not always about what we say, or what we do because alone she is enough. With her cute and wholesome smile, laugh, and our friendship damn even our relationship it’s more than I deserve. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and I know we will come out of this bump in the road stronger than ever. But holy hell I miss her so damn much and I just hope that we can talk about the distance and us again because she knows how much of myself I’m willing to sacrifice just for her. Also just to give more background information I have tried calling and texting her but when I do I find that she is also typing and when I called her she was hesitating to join the call. But yeah it’s been a year since we’ve told each other how we felt and I know I “should have moved on by now” but I just can’t because I don’t want to be with anyone else but her. As I mentioned earlier she’s just amazing and I like that I can be vulnerable around her and I love that she accepted me for who I am and didn’t want to me to change who I am but she inspired me to push myself to be the best version of myself that I can be and I know I’ve done the same thing for her. I’ve literally had dreams with the two of us together in Stuttgart, Germany and most of it is really wholesome and when I have one of those nights I just find myself tearing up a bit. But I am still afraid of losing her. But man I really hope things go well because heaven knows I ain't getting over her

A lot of folks feeling the lyrics of the song and seem to relate to the message; the dedication to a person or relationship that's ending and the pain that devotion causes. It's weird to say but I miss that feeling. That pain is sweet compared to a decade of apathy. To have it, you must have loved and been loved so deeply. I guess what I'm saying to people is dont just pretend for too long, because one day it'll become real and you'll be left wishing you could hurt like that again. But yea, this song is amazing. I fell in love with this song three times. The first time it came out, I listened for weeks... then in September, I had a massive breakup with a big heartbreak, I cried a lot, and this song came to me again. This tune speaks the unspeakable words and thoughts we really struggle to express. I had to let go of my closest friend that I thought we would end up together. Unfortunately, with four years being great pals. There was no happy ending to it. Therefore, the bonding and the friendship ended. This song expresses every emotion and feeling I feel towards that void. I seriously miss her so much. “Heaven knows I ain’t getting over you. We’ll try again, When we’re not so different. There's just something about the way she's slouched down with her head buried to have her hair cover what pain she must be expressing....while her arms hang lifelessly touching the floor as if there's nothing left of her...seeing her breathing in this state is the purest example of grief and loss of not just a lover, but of one's self...it's almost as if she's just there to exist without any purpose as she becomes the shape of this depressed vessel....not even anxiety can describe what it looks like she's feeling....but just sadness..

The lyrics of the song Just Pretend tell about an unclear relationship where in the lyrics it is explained that there is a feeling of tug-of-war in that relationship. The song Just Pretend was originally made by Noah Sebastian to show that it is actually very easy to make modern rock songs, but after listening to the chorus he felt this song had the potential to be a hit and finally Bad Omens released this song.

The first one has the most consistent quality across the album, the second has highest highs but also lower lows, the third includes a lot of variety but ultimately imo isn't the sound for them. Especially the 3 lo fi tracks are kinda terrible. I did enjoy it for what it was but it could have been better.

@@Poroner i feel you with the lofi...the album could go without them BUT i think this was really meant to showcase Noahs talents and he likes messing with that stuff too. Honestly though...take those three out and I would have given this an easy 8.5 out of 10. I gave it 7 simply because it drags a little and the flow is thrown off. I think if their next album has a little more bite with the aggression and this type of production quality that will have a masterpiece on their hands.

Hearing this song reminds me of a great friend I lost 5 years ago. Her name was Amelia. And she was a amazing friend. She always had my back, and I always had hers. We both loved heavy metal, but she loved country music more. Back in the beginning of senior year of highschool, she texted me "we're going to prom, you're gonna dress up nice, and we're gonna slow dance to "She use to be mine" by Brooks and Dunn." I replied "I'll start looking for a suit." That was by far the best prom night I've ever had in my life. Weeks later me, and her are laying down in a old baseball field, and I ask her if she would want to be with me. (Not merry, be my girlfriend) She grabbed my hands and told me "I'm scared of hurting you because I'm scared we'll fight, and never trust each other again. I promise to give you a answer by next week." 5 days later, I get a call from her parents. She unfortunately passed away from a asthma attack. She couldn't reach her inhaler, and her parents called 911. But by the time the ambulance got there, they couldn't find a pulse. I could barely stand, and I was devastated. I cried, screamed to God saying "why, she was too young!" I helped her parents plan a funeral, and her parents wanted me to speak. I barely made it through without having to catch my breath, and wipe the tears. But I managed to pull through. I barely went to school, or work because I was too broken to even try to continue on without her. But I knew that she would've wanted me to push through without her. I knew that she wanted me to stay strong for her. 3 days after the funeral, I asked the school principal if I could take her belongings, and clean out her locker. He said yes. So I did, and when I was close to finishing up, I found a folded peace of paper, it was a drawing she did, and she drew me, and her hands locked, and hearts all around the picture, with writing above it that says "one day we will be together." In big bold writing. I nearly broke down because of it. I brought her belongings to her parents, and they were very grateful that I went out of the way to do that for them. To this day I still stay in contact with her parents, and I treat them like my god parents. I'm still staying strong for her to this day. I have time where I wish she was here with me, and helped me get through the drama, and bullshit that has been happening to me. I still have night about that day. Her name was Amelia. She was 19. She passed away in 2019. I still miss her to this day. She was my great friend, my best mate, my angel from heaven. Rest In Peace Amelia. May you watch over me in heaven with my mother. 😔🕊️
