I'm 51 next week and grew up with this music. It rings true for all ages. My kids are now into the same, which is great. It's good to enjoy the music and rock out, but I always reflect on the lryics as well. Great intelligent words to consider in life wherever you live at any time. Great for inspiration, change and never to accept any spoon fed indocrination, politics, religion, education of any other information you may receive without question. Make you own mind up and go for it. But also to enjoy the music and live life!

What a record...still stands up against ANYTHING in punk rock today. This band blazed so many trails and evolved what punk was and could be...without Bad Religion, there would be no Rise Against, no NOFX...and not just because the record company that spawned them was a part of Bad Religion. Anesthesia is one of the greatest songs ever written, and still gets me all riled up.

If I listen to everything Bad Religion released between '88 and '98, which I consider to be their best years, I will probably still skip several songs.. All Good Soldiers and Stealth off Recipe for Hate Television (and probably also 21st Cen Digital Boy since I will have already heard it on AtG) off Stranger than Fiction Ten in 2010 off Grey Race Biggest Killer and Hippy Killers off No Substance Skip 5-7 songs (not sure Stealth really counts, and I could probably survive a second run of 21st Cen) on 8 albums. None on the first 4. Still a pretty damn good track record I'd say.

By far the greatest BR album of all time. Suffer was heading in this direction, but this was a perfect melding of their melodic hardcore mixed with their ingenious lyrics. Other albums that followed had great moments too, but this album hit perfection on all tracks. That topped with Keith Morris making a guest appearance on Operation Rescue was great. I have listened to this album since release and have never grown tired of it. It is in constant rotation through the years. That speaks volumes.

when you think about punk rock in a historical point of view, punk will always be in opposition to the common sense. there is no reason to you reform the history of punk rock to criticize the realistic point of view from the guy above. punk, by the history of the world and music, will always be against the status quo. when you say "IF" something happen, you are not talking 'bout reality, and you are not talking about punk rock. there is no definition for punk rock, i'm not trying to put it into a box. just giving a materialistic point of view, punk is consequence of what happened, and not of what could. english is not my native language, sorry for possible mistakes, but i think i put my point here. peace

i miss the 90s more every day. music is so used up now. as soon as it comes out, it's thrown out. there will be now classic rock for this generation.for those of us who grew up in that radical decade, stay true, pay it forward, pass it down, keep hope alive.

I fell out of this band for a while, but I heard this album playing and I felt a profound sadness that I haven't listened to BR in over a decade. They're so good and they didn't need constant radio play or media prominence to be one of if not my favorite band of all time. Yah hey.

This album is THE classic Bad Religion album. It blew me away when I was 15. And it still blows me away at 32. I just listened to it speeding down the highway. It's fucking relentless.

Some of these songs I have known forever, but I'll admit I've heard the album in its entirety only yesterday (it's Nov 2020). I'll be coming back here for a long while.

Bad Religion pretty much formed my way of thinking. I am not pessimistic, rather a sceptic. Thank you for this treat for all of us BR fans. Kudos and thumbs up!

I don't think Bad Religion would be particularly fond of that quite honestly. Based on their songs, it seems they want people to use logic to form their own method of thinking about things rather than relying on the thought processing models of others.

The night BR played in Chicago on this tour, Screeching Weasel was playing their first show back after re-forming. This was just before they took off on their way to California to record "My Brain Hurts." The scene really was small enough at the time that a competing show ensured that the Weasel show was sparsely attended. Me, I went and saw Screeching Weasel. It was about the best time I ever saw them, they were fantastic that night. I never heard how BR were that night at Medusa's, but I've always liked this record.
