Pretty great watching the band try to explain Greg Graffin’s academic career to Steve Jones. “Old bones...fossil record, that’s what he’s into...fish, birds...”

The audience is getting on my nerves but I think I would be excited being in that room with those guys as well!!

I like that they covered the difference in Stepping Stone covers, We had that come up in the '90s in a garage band. Looking back one guy was a Pistols fan and he played it a little different.

I wonder what that Gretsch White Falcon owned by Sylvain Sylvain, Joe Strummer, Steve Jones and Phil Lynott would go for? 🤯

Does anyone know the name of that trio Jay is talking about
@Mattelliott12344 жыл бұрын
Hey man, so as Jay was talking about that band I was certain he was talking about Death, but then right at the end he says "from England" and Death are from the US. There is a slight chance he was talking about Death and got the country wrong though. I would highly reccomend checking out Death regardless, many cite them as the first punk band.

I will always love Bad Religion and they are by far my favourite band. But during their 'dark years' they did a song called 'Shades of Truth' - carried by a heavy bass riff. Then I heard a song made by the UK Subs years earlier. It was too similar. LOL (And no, I dont recall the name of the song)

Well I'm a Ramones guy, but I respect what Steve said. He's just saying that the sound he, Cook, Matlock, and Rotten came up with happened to not be Ramones influenced. Both bands were into stuff like the Dolls and Stooges, so it's not surprising that they came up with some common elements. He didn't say that the Ramones didn't record first. Basically, the Ramones were a year ahead of UK punk. Pistols started in '75, and obviously they couldn't have heard the Ramones yet since no one outside NYC had.
