Openly consuming Jim beam bottle in live concert in front of impressionable fans is not humble although I agree Vince is worse in that area!Cheating on Donna Derico is not humble!Using expensive illegal drugs is not humble!Appropriating American Indian culture and look is not humble but tolerable!Writing book with horror images is not even humble!Acting obnoxious on set of Too young to fall in love video is very unhumble!

Given the life Nikki lived and the fact that he almost kicked the chair it’s amazing how well he’s aged. It has to be in the genes. Steve shortly after this had a mini stroke and the doctor saved his life. Hopefully Steve gets in shape and starts taking better care of himself. We need him around for a lot longer. Nikki is extremely well spoken and sounds like an intellectual person. I can’t seem to wrap my head around the man speaking with the life he was living. He was doing crazy hard drugs and getting extremely drunk. How he survived that era I just don’t know. Same with Duff McKagan.

That's the thing that perplexes me about Nikki. How he went from those hedonistic, devil-may-care times in the 80's where he was the poster boy for junkies everywhere to this artsy-fartsy bohemian intellectual vibe he's got going on now is kind of surreal. It's like he flipped a switch and became a totally different person.

David Bowie's Low album is actually one of his greatest but yes I remember being a kid into his music and wanted Ziggy Stardust or Aladdinsane etc but after some repeated listens it became one of my favorites and it was such a bold and dynamic leap into something completely different. That is eventually one of the reasons why DB was a singular and unmatched artist. His ability to go to some uncharted territory and 'open strange doors' etc. After all these years I think that the Berlin trilogy holds up better than most albums from the greatest era and still holds surprises and ahead of its time.
