Bad start to travel day! Close calls! Full Time RV!

This was not a fun way to wake up! We thought the noise that we heard was something more innocent, but we discovered a scary situation, only feet from where we were sleeping!

That was a seriously close call! Everyone was lucky. I have to say there was some irony in Angela mentioning she was driving "65 or faster" and the see the truck and trailer flipped in the median and spoke about being cautious. Just because you can drive that fast doesn't mean it's ok, with a trailer you need to always drive within a control range of speed to be able to slow down because you can't take much evasive action with a trailer attached. Something to think about. Last thought: good Samaritans are becoming rare. Always be aware but it's good to be able to help and stay calm. Just be prepared to protect yourself in an unknown situation. All good lessons! Glad you are safe and back to business!

Your response to the crash was correct. You took an assessment from a safe distance to verify any threats. Did the quick evaluation of the occupants of the pick up and passed all the information you gathered to local law enforcement. Then stayed out of the way. 35 years Law Enforcement and prior military. I would have done the same as you. Occupants didn’t need assistance. So you just wait from a safe distance.

It sounds like you need to upgrade your batteries and may be inverter so you can make coffee in the morning when you’re dry camping. This comes from someone that full times and dry camps at least 95% of the time. It saves a lot of money.

Our batteries are good. We have tested it and believe that we could go for several days . I think we got a LITTLE zealous on the power usage on this one! Ha! Thanks for watching! It’s admirable to dry camp! We try….but we sure like our glamping.

I thought about you on this one, because that's what you are expected to do. I DID poke my head in there, but once I saw that there wasn't any blood and they were breathing, we stepped back. They were intoxicated with SOMETHING, in order to be out for an hour, after you crash!

Safety first! No feet on the dash! Seen too many women with legs that have been totally mangled and hips that been broke. Not fun getting a patient out of a vehicle when their lower half is in a broke mess. Goid reminder to leave it to law enforcement to approach first, you can assess from a distance. You never know what your walking up on.

Very lucky stay safe. The best thing I did was install a 60-gallon fuel tank instead of the factory one. Less stops and find cheaper fuel.

Whew, that was close. For morning coffee, I use an Aeropress. Super easy cleanup too. I love using the truck lanes for filling up. Never have to worry about low clearance. Some truck stops have RV lanes with gas.

They were both highly intoxicated. We think that the truck was next to us, earlier that morning and then tried to take off again. I’m not sure about that, but the officer had to wake them up, even 40 minutes after the crash. I think the bar on the container kept the truck from going all the way under. They were very lucky!

I live next to one of st Louis county worst accident sites. Never once have I hesitated to help someone. I will never ever quit running to the trouble. I believe in god and he shields me. If its my day to go its my day. Should stay prayed up.

Ummmm, wow, I just witnessed the same type of thing this am as I fueled up my body and walked out and almost got hit by a car that had run into a car at the pumps! Clearly the man was drunk and I was under God's care. I had dropped my straw and struggled with the lid on my soda or I would have been a minute sooner-yikes. 2-3 feet is tooooooo close for comfort!!
