Buckle that funny bone in, for this one! Learn a little..laugh a little.
I go over a thorough brake job, for anyone that may need a little confidence to do it themselves. BUT, this job goes awry early on, once Ang takes over! We also briefly discuss how we set our tire pressure monitor, due to the number of questions that we have received about it. Enjoy!

Enjoyed the video as always guys ,but one word of advice . Cody , please use jack stands when that close to being under a vehicle. In my 40 plus years of being a heavy truck mechanic I’ve seen my share of vehicles slip off of jacks. A jack stand is the first thing I grab when any vehicle is up in the air. Be safe out there.

You already got the jack safety lecture several times so no need to kick that dead horse. About the only useful pro tip I can offer is: to get those stuck rotors (or drums) off with less effort, a regular 16 oz ball pein hammer will get it done if you strike the outside surface of the rotor "hat" between the wheel studs. The impact then targets where the rust forms. Dead blow is even better, only if it has a steel face. Leave a lug nut on by a few threads to catch the rotor if it jumps off. Harbor Freight impact sockets are designed to be used on an equally shitty Harbor Freight impact gun. I had an old set bought that was an emergency purchase decades ago, about all the common big sizes were split the 2nd or 3rd use. Nowadays, the throw away tools are more durable, but they are thicker than they need to be so sometimes won't fit in close spaces like a better brand will. You guys did such a great job on that Ford, next time you're through Georgia you can do the front disc brakes on my Mack semi. I'll loan you the 3/4 impact tools, but you'll need eat more BBQ to gain about 50lb so you can torque the calipers (425 ft-lb x 6) and the lug nuts (550 ft-lb x 10) LOL.

You are going to love the powerstop brake pads. Hardly any dust and they work amazing. We also run the TST 507 system and love it. The only bad thing is if you sit it on your dash in the direct sunlight, the monitor will tend to overheat and start to show crazy numbers. One thing to make sure of is that you run the steel valve stems. We actually had a sensor break off one of our rubber valve stems, so if you don't have the steel ones most tire shops will swap them out pretty cheap, it was only like 70 bucks for all 4 to be replaced including the parts. I loved the video, you both crack me up and that's a great thing. Happy camping all!!

@@JetTech1966 That's good info though. I have been pulling it down since you said that. I had another person recently that said the same thing. Doesn't hurt to just pull it out of the sun for a bit, or bring it inside.

@JetTech1966 14 күн бұрын
@@RVUntethered There is one other thing I've noticed with it is that you can't charge it while driving in the sunlight. Charging it while driving, while it's in the sunlight gets it hot as hell. The batteries last a long time though, just charge it up at night like we do and it will work just fine for the most part unless it gets super hot. Anyway you haven't mentioned if you have steel valve stems on your wheels. Please if you don't, get them changed out to steel ones ok? Trust me, we had one rip off our rubber valve stem and it flew out into nowhere and 20 seconds later we are on side of the road with a flat tire. Steel valve stems ONLY!!! Do not trust where they say rubber valve stems are fine. Nope!! We have proven that wrong and it sucked being onside of the road with a flat tire due to screwed on sensor. It's too much centrifugal weight on the rubber valve stems for them to last any amount of time.

@RVUntethered 15 күн бұрын
Thanks y’all! I do love my Milwaukee air inflator. It doesn’t have a tank so it’s not a compressor in the traditional sense. It fits under the truck seat, runs on a drill battery and it’s always with me. It’s great for our trailer tires, handles 110 psi just fine. If you’re really low, it’ll take a bit to inflate since it has no tank and the motor does all the work. I let all the air out of a tire and it was around 8 minutes to fully reinflate. For what we do, it’s perfect. Here’s a link to what we use. amzn.to/4dlFm7o

This video was the best! I do have a question. My husband and I have dogs and they are barkers. What do you do with your dogs when you go out? Or what do you do when you want to stay in state parks that don't allow pets?
@RVUntethered
@RVUntethered 12 күн бұрын
We haven’t stayed in a lot of state parks, but we’ve never had one that doesn’t allow pets. There may be a number of animal restriction or specific sites that don’t allow them. Eris tends to bark, but we’ve been working with her a lot, especially inside the “house”. When we leave, we close the windows and put the tv or music on for them. I’m pretty sure ours sleep the whole time. Eris is head strong and it has been a long road, but I found some great articles on Pintrest for training for no barking. It helped. Basically, teach them what bark is, so they learn quiet. Use treats or whatever. Then just acknowledging what they’re barking at helps. Ex. go to the window, “Okay thank you”, now quiet. That one seemed to help us a lot. They’ve adapted pretty well. She has to have someone come inside or up to her outside now, to bark.
