The clip of the American car reminded me that the lead actor in one of my favourite films died recently. The film is "Vanishing Point" (1972 and I was 4) and the lead actor was Barry Newman, he died this May and I remember he also starred in Petrocelli which I vaguely remember from the 1970's. I'm gonna watch the film again tonight just because it's so good and was a seminal film of the 70's, full of violence, womanising and drug use but what a hero Kowalski is driving his 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Magnum with a supercharger, capable of speeds of over 160 miles per hour🥰😍🥰😍

Excellent film, very poignant ending. Also some great driving by Barry Newman in Alistair MacLean's film 1972 'Fear is the Key' where' in another cracking high speed sequence he uses a Ford Gran Torino Sport to great effect. (Yes, I do know there was a highly capable stunt team)! 😀

6:24 the M60 has signs specifically stating "TRAFFIC ISLAND, STAY IN LANE" (or words to that effect) for this reason. A little later on with the BMW cutting out, perfect place to use the horn.

Not sure about Corner Cutting Cretin, when Twat sums them up in 1 syllable. Tesla tit is a good description, had a run in with one out on my motorbike, think he got upset I could accelerate faster than him without even trying, he was in the left turn only lane so I was not even trying to beat him, he pulled up and said I was a bad rider, I said send in your sentrycam footage to London Dash Cam we will let the audience decide - we shall wait :)

The mini reversing out of their driveway was probably concentrating on getting out of your way as quickly as they safely could. I'd imagine that their thinking went "I can faff about waving, or playing with my hazards, or I can just get out of his way as quick as possible? What would I want? For the bugger to get out of my way." A courtesy is by definition "given as a favour, not a right", so quit moaning about it as if it's your right to get a courtesy wave/whatever. If you get it, it's a bonus, if you don't, it wasn't yours to demand.

At around 7:10 your comment about fast drivers only know how to drive fast but not actually drive properly is absolutely spot on. They offen exhibit poor hazard perception and road craft and little consideration for other users. I can never understand why anyone would think it's "clever" to drive fast. We all know what makes a car go fast, it's a right foot on the accelerator pedal. Nothing particularly clever about that. And as the saying goes, any fool can drive fast enough to be dangerous.

I have also noticed like you that those that drive fast can only drive fast. Because the cannot read the road I pass them a few moment later as I have planned the next junction based on where i am going and the position and expected speed of the cars ahead of me. Adjusting my speed to arrive at a roundabout just as a space appears for me to slip in with out stopping. The fast driver will already be there (stopped), as i am still moving i simply pass them so that have to overtake me again further down the road ... gives me deep joy

It seems the BMW, in common with a lot of drivers now, are good at going fast in a straight line, but as soon as they get to something that needs thinking about, or a little bit of driving skill, they can’t do it.

At around 2:55 yes I agree it might be difficult to reverse into the driveway given that it's right by a traffic light junction. However, one solution might be to drive up onto the pavement temporarily (yes, I know I know but possibly the lesser of two evils given this situation) to let other traffic past and do the reverse into the driveway from that position, watching out for front end swing as you turn sharply to reverse in. At least with that method, you won't be blocking traffic coming through the junction and can wait out of the way to chose your moment to reverse in. Of course consideration has to be given to pedestrians.

It'd be less of a problem if they could drive fast & well, but if they could drive well, they wouldn't need to drive fast. Driving fast just does not help, I once had a guy speed past me on the way home from the NEC, 30 mins later when we got to the slip road i needed to get me home, the same guys was the car in front of me at the next set of lights. Nice to see that extra 20-30mph got him there 5 metres sooner.

Roundabout cutting is really common. If you are not the ahead vehicle, never assume the person next to you is going to use the lane correctly, stay back and avoid an overlap, like TLDC does otherwise you are allowing them to drive into you. That sliproad you mentioned off the M25 anticlockwise (J7 for the M23 Southbound) isn't a 50mph speed limit. the limit at that time (as the variable speed limit was not in force) is 70mph for the van. The corner warning triangle has a recommended speed of 50mph but, because it is not in a red circle, it does not affect the speed limit.

I encountered a CCC in a BMW today as well! What a coincidence! I was just nipping to the shop on my e-bike and he came flying round a blind corner on the wrong side of the road, I spotted the idiot fast enough to stop and he looked might shameful and apologetic for a situation where 5 seconds later would have been a head-on, I mean just do it properly! I actually had to tell my mother off for cutting a corner after even having to hold for a lorry before doing it! Just go forwards more and steer harder. it isn't rocket science!

My dad lived on a busy road on a T-junction, my solution was to just reverse in- it could be tricky as it was a main road, your position and inputs had to be good and timing was everything- but my God did you appreciate going out forwards as you just couldn't see very much at all in reverse! I dunno why people don't reverse in!

1:55 there are soo many lazy drivers, who'd rather tie a piece of string between A & B, then try and drive that line instead of pertinent road craft. Oh and he cut the corner when turning right as well. 2:16 another lazy driver, and you could see by the cars stance when stopped that he/she was going to do just that. love to see you in an old land rover place it inbetween them and the curbs . 3:05 thats a class knob move, adding insult to injury. 3:25 you are kidding me, again lazy driving, didnt want to reduce speed at corner.

Just did a run to camber sands and back, the M25 and A217 were exactly the same as usual, but highlight was a car doing 60 in lane 4 on the M25 and a forgien lorry in lane 3. These people have driving licences somehow

at 5:57 do you apply "who is at the pinch point first" or on who's side is the obstacle? from what i know, if you have an obstacle in front, you overtake the obstacle by crossing into the opposing lane, you have to yield and pass safely...

You forgot to add "...in a straight line." to the "They only know how to drive fast" comment. Especially true of BMWs, as they have probably been bitten by the rear wheel drive in the wet some time in the past. They are now actually scared of the throttle pedal. Not true of every one but true of enough that it is noticable.

First clip - the driver is obviously a little bit lost there. Following this closely and then passing right after he stops shows a little impatience here. 5:40 - In fairness, until the very last moment he might not have seen us either. In the end we were driving on the other side of the road. 6:50 - Same as own blind spots, it is important to be aware of other driver's blind spots. 7:25 - Not excusing the BMW driver, but undertaking is often related to poor lane discipline... And more cars undertaking in this clip.

5:47 "Pinch point first" isn't the rule. If the obstruction is on your lane then you wait till its safe to change lanes. I.e. not forcing cars in the other lane to stop. The only time you get away with it is when the cars in the other lane are not visable. For example if there are multiple obstructions going around a corner where its impossible to see that far ahead. Then the car in the other lane has to wait for you to get passed, because you know, we aren't telepathic to know if cars are there or not. Its the same with changing lanes, pulling out of junctions etc. So yes, that car should have waited for you. That and people not knowing to merge at the end rather than creating 1 huge line of traffic (and sometimes blocking people from going down the other lane who are doing it correctly) really annoys me.

Some days when I'm out and about I'd swear sometimes that I'm the only driver on my journey that doesn't cut corners. I've noticed quite a lot of new roads acquiring 'micro' islands and a keep left sign between lanes at junctions, so perhaps it's not just me that thinks the majority need a hand to help them do it properly.

Maybe you'll get to a position with your channel where you can use a freelance editor because I know how long editing takes, a 10 minute video can be an evenings work🙄🙄

5:38 Pedestrians are allowed on either side of the barrier and are allowed to walk on the carriageway. Virtually all roads in this country are pedestrian rights of way and as such pedestrians have a right to make they way on them. Hence Rule H2 "Pedestrians may use any part of the road"
