Great video, lovely footage and pieces to camera. I did my first voluntary wardening at Elmley from 1985, so was lovely to see some of the changes and familiar birds. You had a decent tally considering the conditions and all the camera work!

@@tonycritcher3419 as I understand it, the bad weather forces everything to come down and wait it out. Also, as fewer people/cars are about, the wildlife is more inclined to show.

@@stormcabbirds Yes indeed. I remember sweeping the hides out at Elmley and a storm suddenly rolled in and I sat it out in one of the hides and so many grey plovers just seemed to fall out of the sky and stand around waiting for the weather to clear. The drive in was also a great experience especially as you say when there's little or no traffic to disturb the early birds! In those days, (mid 80's) the assistant warden used to drive people around to Stodmarsh, to see the rare Cettis Warblers! Elmley was also where I saw my first Little Egret!

In Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, there are five 5️⃣ species of owls : Collared Scops Owl 🦉, Brown Wood Owl 🦉, Oriental Scops Owl 🦉, Asian Barred Owl 🦉, and Brown Fish Owl 🦉. Have you see any of these when you were in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR last time at the Mai Po Bird Reserve ?

I don’t think Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR has any migratory goose, but not sure if you had noticed any Mallard 🦆 Ducks at the Mai Po Bird Reserve the last time you came …. 🤔🤔
