Question for you if you don’t mind answering: what size drift boat would you recommend for a first time buyer/user. I was thinking of getting an 18x60 Willies. There is a couple of smaller rivers that I would be using it on and a few larger rivers. Nothing with massive rapids though. I am just trying to ask around to see what most guides prefer for their personal opinion and maybe why they prefer that size. I really love the drift boat. They are so stable and just glide on the water compared to other styles of boats. Plus you can use them in so many styles of fishing be it lake, river, ocean bay, shallow water, deep water, with motor, without motor, etc. Thank you for your time and you amazing content. 👍👍

You are most welcome, and thank you for checking out my channel! I started with a raft until I was really comfortable and confident on the sticks. I then bought an 18' clackamax because it was light enough for me and nimble enough in difficult and dangerous rivers. My best advice is get something you can handle with confidence, and drift boat fishing safety is about preparation, knowing your river, and knowing how you will respond in each situation. I would also advise reaching out to someone who rows on the river you plan on spending time on- they may have good advice for that specific area! Best of luck and tight lines!

Need your info for a guided trip on the Quinolt. Just seen your Addicted fishing episode as well. My hats off to you ma’am. Please send me info to potentially book a trip. I live in Northern California and been steelhead salmon fishing my whole life. Our fishing is really on the decline, but my addiction is stronger than ever for these fish. So if I gotta travel two states then so be it. Thank you so much.

What's great about this is its not crowded with lots of fisherman. I looked on the map where this river is and its on Native land I believe. I'm going to check out the rates for a guided trip. I once had a guided trip on the Clackamas River for the spring run and caught a 25 lb bright silver Chinook, with an egg sack. It was great battle. The west is such beautiful country, and being from NJ, much appreciated.
