First off, it's always wonderful to see all manner of vehicles preserved for future generations to study, but the uniqueness of the 'Harrier JJ' will always bring gasps of astonishment. I sat in the pilot seat of a two-seater version, and that was an amazing experience in itself, but to fly an aircraft which can slow to a hover and have true VTOL capability must be such an incredible feeling for a pilot. Great filming on the video too, and good to see the appreciation for one of the most innovative inventions ever to come out of the UK. Best of luck to all involved in keeping the legacy of the Harrier JJ alive and well.

unfortunately the British authorities couldn't give a toss about our aviation history and that's why most iconic British types end up abroad with none left in the UK just static museum exhibits. However at least its appreciated and still flying
@sirsydneycamm18835 жыл бұрын
The UK authorities don't need to toss too much. Brit planes are appreciated so much, private individuals and crowd-funding keeps everything flyable flying. Not many places would entertain operating a nuclear bomber, the Vulcan, just for airshows. Have you seen the Shuttleworth collection and how often it flies more than all those at Duxford? The Harrier is grounded as a type not from lack of funds or type. The only plane needing a little boost from HM is the Lancaster in the BBMF. There are plenty of private Spitfires and Hurricanes and another Lancaster is being worked on up north for dreams of flight in a few, expensive years, all done without needing HM money.
