Never get tired of seeing high quality cars. It appears the car scene in Australia is alive and well!

That Big Boy statue was from The Shoney’s Big Boy restaurant that started in Charleston, West Virginia by founder Alex Schoenbaum in 1947. It was a waitress car hop drive-in where all the hot rodders would “cruise” through and show off their cars especially on weekends. They bought your food out to your car and placed a tray on your partially rolled down window. I spent many nights there with my 56’ Chevy 2 dr ht with a 327 cu. In. vette crate engine I bought from a local dealership with 365 hp in 1965. I met Mrs. Schoenbaum several years ago at a car show they had there. The Gentleman is so correct MANY MEMORIES ! Appreciate all your and Jolene’s hard work bringing us these videos. Thank You !!!

You can see the gears turning in Chads head on looking at these beautiful cars. I think this visit to down under has to be such a brain stimulator for giving Chad new ideas and motivation to get back to work when he gets home! Bravo!

Wow……… that was ridiculously impressive. I also really appreciated the passion the Proprietor has for his Father’s memory and the Ford Coupe. I have not seen a more pristine build and maintenance area, just awesome. I am going to the Gold Coast to see this first hand.

I'm going to be sad when you have to leave Australia the tours and people and the videos have been awesome. The respect and grace you two have shown is the greatest compliment you can give to your hosts. 🤗😊. Ontario fan

Jolene and Bad Chad are wonderful hosts of the collection of American and Australian classic cars in Australia. I started off by admiring the classic cars: everything was shiny and very well cared for. Bad Chad guided us through the entire collection, always with Jolene's charm, explaining to us the unique features of the cars. I were greeted with so much kindness and professionalism, not to mention the excellent quality of the classic cars. I couldn't have been more impressed with this experience. Thanks 👍

You caught my ear when you mentioned Vauxhall cars. My dad had a '63 (I think). I took it over as my first car. The unibody frame had rusted out so I found one in a junk yard with no engine, transmission and rear end. I put mine into it and drove it for a few years. Lots of memories.

They most definitely have a museum garage there better than a lot of them right here in the states. Believe me I've been in a lot of garages in California shop's, Garages, Man Caves. They don't have a plane hanging from rafters? And a dinner or bar.
@snoopu2601 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm digging some of those Australian model car's even the black 4 door had nice body line's. A 4 door is cool if you are cruisin with family or friend's. They can get out the car easier. My first car I built into a Kustom was a scrap car that was going to be a parts car it was a 4 door 1968 Toyota Corolla.

You can bet on it. I checked out the "782" Motors auction site. All of the cars in the showroom are listed. Most have NOT met the reserve and the bids are sky high, even considering the bids are Australian dollars.

A few of the Hot Holdens, Monaro and such used Corvette engines etc. I took a 350hp Corvette engine from a Monaro for my 81 SJ Jeep, cammed for a bit more torque. My Monaro HK GTS back in 1969 had the "hot" 186 cui 6 cyl and powerglide.

You could get a Monaro with factory 161 cui 6 and 3 on the tree, nowadays they are nearly all original v8 cars, go figure.
