Love this march. I play this every day to cheer me up and here in the U.S., its at least twice a day in 2022.

The long and the short of it, Badenweiler Marsch is the best marching music there is. In fact, the more you hear it, the better it is!

Felicitaciones.

Since I cannot speak or read German, I'll have to go with English. The first time I heard this march was while watching the full cut of "Triumph of The Will".....we can do that in the USA! In any case, this WWI (?) march is an excellent example of German military marching bands in years gone by.

You can see it in their movements, when we have finished we can walk the safe streets, go home to a good meal, go to work in the morning and earn a good wage, well, if not in their minds in their forebears minds, Badenweiller, the Fuehrer's favorite marching song. Mein Fuehrer, RIP.
@robzed212 жыл бұрын
Hitler remarked that it was not necessarily his favourite march, but he did make favourable comments about it once, so his underlings pushed it as his fave. It was often played when he made an entrance at an official occasion: see "Triumph of the Will" it features a couple of times.

Very good comment!! I actually wrote to a german colonel in bundeswehr to hear if marches used in the war were still in use today, cause it would be a terrible waste of good music. Many of the songs that actually was related to nazism are very good too, but I can see the controversy if they were taken back into service, even without the lyrics. Personally I love the tune Uboot lied.

One sound you can hear in this rendition of the song is the glockenspiel. Most marching bands no longer use the instrument *but* it is very important to include to make the song more authentic.

Wonderful! You should keep playing more and more. It's unacceptable for great art to lose to labeling politics! If anyone complains about the setlist, you should tell them, "You cultural underdeveloped person, lol." Greetings from Japan. Wunderbar!

Not "stir the pot". Wiki Badenweiler March. Actually googling the subject turns up several references to the subject. Just by discussing the subject here...the primary interest in the music is were used in many Nazi parade marches. Reference NSDAP annual party meeting Nuremberg 1933 and 34. See also "Triumph of the Will".

@Doug48794 yeah, their bands are big on percussion, aren't they. LOL I'm suprised that 20 million Germans haven't posted comments tactfully reminding you it was written during WW1. But I don't think anyone denies it was especially played during the bad old days when he made a grand entrance somewhere. Wikipedia can tell you all about it.

lol don't mention it, zeke1312, I'll bet 95% of the Germans posting comments are very skilled in English. If you want to hear another march of similar style and intensity, search for Koniggratzer. --Eric, US ps some people dispute this being you-know-who's favorite march, claiming that idea emanated from some casual remark he made that sycophants jumped on. Still, it does seem to get played at every major entrance, doesn't it.
