I repair cameras as a hobby (changed jobs so now its only a hobby) and it is an amazing feature you can calibrate your lens. Let me explain. I recently calibrated a leica m4 rangefinder for a nokton 35 1.4 ii (brand new lens) and tested soon after that an ulron 28 (brand new also) to see that the minimum focus movement is wildly different so if you calibrate the camera to perfectly focus on nokton then the ultron is off when close focusing vice versa. both not cheap lenses to have this issue. Leica lenses dont have such issues in my experience but the fact that you can calibrate the lens simply means you wont waste photos because of the lens, something I wish voigtlander had implemented on their lenses. Before anyone comments whether it is because of focus shift on nokton etc, no it is simply because of manufacturing (nokton is same with summicron in this case and the ultron is off)

I’m loving some of the stuff TTArtisan is pushing out to us at reasonable prices. While not exactly film related, I did recently get TTArtisans 10mm f2.0 for my Fuji and it has not disappointed ❤. Love the video dude!

That lens looks really good! Not just on the outside, but the image quality too. I bet it could be fun to shoot in the dark at 1.4. Get some bokeh balls shining behind your subjects and such. Isn’t it cool that there are companies making affordable AND good lenses now days? I have the Mitakon 65mm 1.4 for GFX and it’s kind of amazing. Viltrox also makes some incredible lenses for “low compared to Leica/Zeiss” prices (though only for digital).

I gotta say that Canon is a banger though. Especially for the price. I have the f1.4 version and just adore it. Those old coatings give you some beautiful color and all these old Canon LTM lenses have just the right amount of character to not be obnoxious or practical. Also if you love flares these lenses just slap.

I really wish TTartisan made Pentax K mount lenses, this is pretty much what I have been looking for to put on my P30. I guess I could potentially get it in Sony E mount and then adapt it, but I want to avoid adapters
@BadFlashes7 ай бұрын
Is the Pentax k the digital version?
@gurumanlives42317 ай бұрын
@@BadFlashes It's both, they haven't changed the mount dimensions since 1975 when it was introduced. They have just added electrical contacts to the modern lenses to allow for autofocus and aperture control, but vintage K mount lenses still work natively on modern cameras.

I have this lens and I use it at concerts in dark clubs all the time. I've never had distortion problems with it. But, it does flare like crazy, and I had to calibrate it on a digital Leica. It was way off when I bought it used and unusable at 1.4 without calibration.

honestly, not a big fan of all that pin cushion distortion. thats fine on a digital camera, but you cant get that out in the darkroom. also, jesus christ that thing is soft in colour. odd that you praised its sharpness on that door photo, when it loses all contrast that the canon had for a marginal gain in center sharpness. i can buy a used Voigtländer 50mm 1.2 Nokton or a 40mm 1.4 for 70€ less than the TTartisans, and as opposed to the TTartisans i can resell it if i dont like it anymore

@@BadFlashes not for 70, for 70 less than the TTartisans 50 1.4, there are always a few in really good condition on ebay for around 300, if youre willing to make some concessions in terms of fogging or cleaning marks (and theyre probably still going to outperform the TTart lens, at least with a good hood) theyre even less.
