This is my camera! Bought it in 2020 under 100 and I love it. It's my main film camera to use and it always get the job done. Glad that its getting the recognition that it deserves!

Maybe printing onto inkjet transparency sheets could save you some money... unless you want to do the 4x5 version.

Looking at the Ektachrome 5294 spec sheet (because movie spec sheets actually have camera stops along the curve): It starts clipping the highlights at around four stops over. So setting your exposure so that’s where the highlights of the image falls should be a decent way to ensure the white point is correct. I’d probably still use a middle grey patch to make sure the mids track with that. But of course that’s also dependent on where middle grey ends up falling in the scan. Going for the highlights is probably the best. And yes, you really gotta use a spot meter for that.

Thanks Caleb, great review! I almost landed this little lens on Ebay, sadly lost the bid, and ended up buying something else. I might have to get one, the macro/wide angle feature seems pretty cool! 😁

Very interesting how you talk about the LTM flaring more whilst shooting only the M-Mount one with a hood 🤷♂️🫣

Well it’s not that type of flare… a Wes hood wouldn’t fix the specific situation I’m talking about
@thomebau8953 күн бұрын
@BadFlashes Oh, okay. I didn't know that. Interesting none the less, because regarding the optics all variants of this lens should be identical. Could be that the older pancake style has the dreaded issue of many older voigtländer lense. Haze in the bonded elements.

Do you have experience how quick slide film fades due to heat or constant light ? And would it be not so fancy but more accessible and cheaper to use medium format film (in another type of lamp) or print it on a laser printer onto slides and use these instead ?

Be careful when buying a 1nRS, the fixed mirror is super delicate and easy to scratch, which may also end up on your images. Definitely an area to check of you’re looking at one. Beyond that, incredibly robust bit of kit. Bought mine off a friend who had “upgraded” to a 1v.
