The problem from what I see(cause I don’t have 25’) isn’t the shooting, it’s the RNG. If that was taken out and it was based on timing and contest, it would be better. RNG should never be implemented into sports games. Madden got the same issues with random Inaccurates. Until 2k gets an anti cheat to combat zens, they will continue these dumb practices to try and get them out(which clearly hasn’t worked). Im not a fan of releasing my jumpshot in the same place but 2k moves my green window every time.

LISTEN UP EVERYONE! When it comes to rhythm shooting, you all keep thinking you have to come to a complete stop?!? You dont! Shoot like normal while using the stick but just add a extra motion of flicking the stick up with the motion of the shot! So if you wanted to do a fadeaway to the left while going towards the base line, you would flick the stick down to the left and then with the motion of the shot, flick it up to the right quickly. Its hard to put into words but just pull back on the stick whenever you would normally press "shoot button" and follow the motion of the shot that follows. This is how I do all my fades and I am shooting about 71% in the rec on a 83 3pt. (at park)

Mike Wang has it right. The 1. Option is the best option and the one that will produce games that look/feel as close to a real basketball game as possible. Just like in the NBA, some players can’t shoot jumpshots well enough to be taking them often. Yet those players still find a place on NBA teams, how is that? Oh that’s right they understand there’s more aspects to the game than shooting, and they focus on being better in other areas to make up for their lack of a jumpshot. Does the builder force you up your 3pt/Mid range rating? So if casuals can’t shoot, guess what their solution is? Make a build that’s focus isn’t shooting. This is why I’m loving the new 2k, because it’s finally exposing people who have no business playing the position they keep trying to play, and the game is better off without those people ruining no squads lobbies for people that don’t have an entire group of friends that play (most people). If you can’t shoot well enough to shoot 40%+ from 3 and 50%+ FG then make a build that specializes in defense and inside scoring, or quit. I’ll take a quality playerbase of people who don’t throw games over a slightly larger playerbase with millions of monkeys that take the PG/SG positions and avg less than 4 assists per game on less than 50% FG

So with that being said… After making 3 straight 3s 2K forces you to change your style of play basically. Here’s the thing let’s say I’ve been left wide open at the 3 point line on my fourth shot attempt. So 2k says you’re gonna miss and you have no control over it. That’s a wild situation especially if it was in a game point scenario. You miss that game winning shot just cuz 2k wants you to “change your style of play” like what!!?? If I lose the game on top of that, oh yeah this game is getting uninstalled

I have never been able to shoot well in online modes , until this year. If you just put in some effort and do all the little maintenance things to keep your player playing at their peak potential ( hot spots , gatorade drills , boosts, practice your shot) you will hit shots if you are taking good ones

I'm with you badge plugs thank you for using your platform to speak up for the community. You're right I don't play a lot of comp this year I just don't have the time or inconsistent team. The casual game modes is where majority of the player base is that will always be the case. It's also where the bulk of 2Ks money comes from other than people who just would be considered wells. Right we need something to combat zens. Moving them from comp is not the answer. It's almost like putting a very cheap Band-Aid on a really large wound. It helps but it does not solve the problem.

I would consider myself a casual player, playing a few hours a day most of the time. I have a guard build that was built with a 78 3pt and 68 mid. I have been shooting what I consider a good average percentage for a shooter in 42% from 3s. I personally love how the shooting is in 2K25. People complain about the shooting because they don't hit every open shot, which The best of the best in the NBA do not hit every single open shot. The entire game so far is so much more fluid, and realistic than past 2ks have been. I really hope 2k does not cater to the community and add a bunch of patches to make shooting easy again like they did in 2K25. Please 🙏 let the complainers keep complaining and give us time, and people will realize this is actually good for 2k. Thw only thing that needs fixed is the lane steals for sure. Keep up the good work Badge 💪

I confidently say that in online modes the cue does not stay the same. I use push and always release when the ball reaches my head and sometimes it green and sometimes it’s not.

They should not buff shooting. They just remove RNG and fix the shot contest system(every contested shot says open). The players need to adjust and stop spamming 3s. They do need to patch steals and loose ball awareness(the offensive player almost always get loose balls back), it’s ridiculous.

I work full time 6am-4:30pm after work play for about maybe 2 hours max and on the weekends I’ll play all day if I don’t have any plans. I have a dog and my wife works and does school so I cook half the time too. In my limited time since the game come out I’ve been able to get to 94 overall, I’m 45-26 in the city/park haven’t played any other game mode, and I’m rookie 3, I finally have the whole 3pt line hotspot and about half my badges maxed. I went from shooting 28% from 3 to 49% with the Rhythm shooting. I put in the work to learn the rhythm mechanic, learn my jump shot and grind as much badges that I can In my limited time. I also play other games too. So please people just take your time. The problem is people just want to load up into game and green 3s with no effort. I’m all for making shooting easier i don’t care, the best are still gonna be winning and the bad will still be losing.

Thank you badgeplug for being a real one and knowing that 2k shouldn’t just be a bunch of really good %75-80 3ptFG running around and dribbling around the perimeter like crack heads. It should feel rewarding for a player to make a 3. It should feel punishing when a 3 is missed so that a player can learn and adjust to a better shot. More skill based shooting shouldn’t be damned, and these clowns shouldn’t be crying because they’re consistently shooting bricks and not doing anything to change the quality of shots they’re taking.

I wonder if some of the inconsistencies people are feeling are from the custom visual cue? When you adjust it you have no clue where your cue moves to exactly. You just know if you move it closer to push or release or backwards towards set point, etc. it would be nice if it showed us the point of the new cue instead of having to guess and shoot and feel it out. With a visual we’d get a feel for it faster

There's a reason for "comp" game modes, not every game in park or theatre needs to be sweaty, makes game exhausting to play
