Watch Neal Hunt and the Soar No More Crew as they catch a wild badger with gloved hands, a sheet, and a dog kennel. Most amazing badger films caught on tape!
The badger was digging holes in a farmers field, which is dangerous to the farmer, and his equipment. The badger was relocated to avoid potential harm to the farmer, and the animal.

FAQs
-Is that Matt Damon?
No. That is Neal Hunt
-Why can’t you leave it alone!?
The badger was digging holes in a farmers field, which is dangerous to the farmer, and his equipment. The badger was relocated to avoid potential harm to the farmer, and the animal.
-What did you do with the badger?
The badger was released on BLM land a couple of miles from where it was captured. The land was flush with ground-squirrels, and rabbits, and contained very little badger sign that would indicate a competition for the territory.
-How dare you!?
The farmer had a badger problem, that would eventually lead to injury to livestock, damaged farm equipment, and the death of the badger. The farmer gets rid of a nuisance, and the badger got a new, safer home.
-That’s illegal! Aren’t badgers endangered/protected?
Exactly zero laws were broken in the removal, and relocation of this animal. American Badgers are not a protected species. In Idaho, they are classified as a predator species, and can be hunted, trapped, and killed year round, without limit, and have no meat or fur use requirements. However, in this case, the badger was not killed, or harmed. It was removed.
What about the badger’s babies?
The badger was a juvenile male who was attempting to establish his own territory, and thus was without pups. However, even if he had been a breeding female, there would have been no babies: this video was taken in November. Badgers have a delayed gestation, and do not give birth until early spring. By late fall, the young ones would no longer be dependent on their mother.
-What music is that?
The music is called "Chase Pulse" by Kevin MacLeod.
-How would you like it if someone relocated you?
If I was causing damage to someone’s property that is used to create food for you, your family, and everyone else, and was in danger of being shot by a farmer, or run over by a tractor, I would be very appreciative of being removed from the situation. Unfortunately, seeing as how badgers are badgers, there was not a way to reason with the little guy, and explain what was going on, and why it needed to happen. That's why animals can't get arrested for trespassing. And that's why he needed to be removed against his will; he couldn't understand the full scope of the situation.
-Why are there so many dislikes and negative comments?
People either don’t read video descriptions, or don’t understand how things actually function on planet earth, and all of those people like to congregate on KZbin together.
-Is that a honey badger?
No, it is an American badger.
-Do honey badgers give a shit?
Absolutely not.
-Why didn’t you use tranquilizers?
We are not vets, and do not know the correct dosage, nor have access to the appropriate tranquilizers for a badger. Without such knowledge, we would potentially cause the badger more harm than capturing him with a sheet.
-Why were you wearing camo?
To hide from your mom. She wouldn’t stop calling us.
-Scavenging?
Yes. Can you believe it? Someone mispronounced something in a non-scripted single-take of a video. He might be the only person to ever do that, so that makes him a pioneer.
-What don’t we need?
No stinkin’ badgers.

Judging by the like to dislike ratio, gonna guess there were a lot of animal white knights who have absolutely no idea about the relationship today between animals and agriculture. Long story short: These guys saved this badgers life. If they hadn't moved it would have been shot by the landowner for damaging his property.

You guys can all call bull, but I'm guessing around 25 yrs ago a buddy and I closed down the local bar, filled our cooler full of beer and headed out.. In Rurall NE.. Around 2 or so in the am a badger crossed the road ahead of me.. Yeah, I was drunk.. I chased him down with nothing but a pair of leather gloves and a flashlite, and carried him back to the truck. Hollaring at my buddy to dump the beer from the cooler.. He did, and we took the badger home. I'll never try it again, but when I caught up with the badger, he and I met and I shoved my gloved thumb down his throat and clamped onto his bottom jaw with the rest of my one hand.. Young, dumb, tough and drunk, is the only way i can discribe it.. He crushed my thumb and it took nearly a year to come back to normal, but thats my story. Had to share... I'm 59 now.... Never again..LOL

Great story, in my youth in North Baffin. I was out with my Eetuk (grandfather) we were amongst a herd of caribou and I said I was going to sneak up from behind the boulder we were behind and ass smack one of females that was only a few arms lengths away from us. My Eetuk quietly said in his dialect that would be foolish and disrespectful to the animal. I did it anyways, I crept behind and rose my arm to smack it in the ass and it saw and it f*ucking donkey kicked me right in my right hip and upper thigh and I semi flipped forward from he force of it. My uncle who was with grandfather was beside himself in laughter. He could barely stand he was laughing so hard. My grandfather of course raced over to see if I was hurt and I put my best face forward and said I’m ok knowing full well my sorry ass was hurting metaphorically and physically. I had a bruise I bore all summer long. On the boat ride back to camp I had time to reflect on it and feel shame lol. My mother met us when we got to shore and saw I was limping heavily and she aloud asked wtf happened to my son. My Eetuk explained what happened and to my dismay my Anaana (mom) was more upset with my Eetuk and asked why didn’t he scold me. He quickly chimed back in his dialect again to my mom that when he saw me in mid air he had a flashback to his youth when he did the exact same thing except he got the antlers end of the caribou and he laughed to himself inside and said to himself “ yes he’s definitely my grandchild “ hahaha.

Just more tender, plus easy to get (Specially if it's ur neighbors) it's also fun to cook prairie dogs in the oven. Just trap em and put the trap and everything in the oven. They don't scream that long. Goats are tasty but evil so they have to be bleed out. Just cut ther ears off and let em walk around till they pass out and your golden

My grandfather used to say that they will bite until they can hear the crunch of the bone. People used to put coal in their boots for its "crunchability" in the olden days when forced to interact with badgers according to him. The entire badger family can be incredibly dangerous and totally fearless, not just Honey Badgers. To the people arguing animal rights...it was probably this or an encounter with a plow. A badger will not back down from anything..including a tractor with a plow.

People are still commenting negatively on this. A badger is a very VERY dangerous animal to have near a farm. It might as well be a small wolf that prefers to fight than flee. Badgers will attack and injure anything, even creatures many times its own size. Badgers will stand their ground and defend their claimed territory, attacking everything and anything regardless of their chances of winning. If you want to go have a picnic with a badger, go ahead. You're going to be ripped apart by them if you agitate it in even the slightest. Yes, you can find videos of "tame and trained badgers" but good luck thinking one born and surviving in the wild is going to let you rub its belly. They need to be relocated away from people. Yes, a badger will even attack a bear. badgers in africa attack lions and hyenas. They're fucking nuts.

Great job guys! I live in an area where badgers can be a real problem for cattlemen and ranchers and it's great to see you guys take the risk of catching the badgers to relocate them instead of just shooting them as is common practice here where I live. Keep up the good work and just ignore the self righteous idiots that have no clue about how dangerous that situation was for the farmer, yourself and the badger. I'm sure that most of these negative comments come from folks that probably think steak comes from the store, and the only cows they've ever seen were on TV.

folks, if you don't Live in a rural area then you cannot understand why animals like this need relocated, so I'm not going to try and convince you. What I will say is these guys must care about wildlife quite a bit because catching a badger is risky business. Badgers can be mean little turds and most people would just shoot it. Hell, if I had to I may just have shot it I'm not getting bit by one of these things. Good show guys you have some balls lol

I am so glad you guys did this and posted it. Badgers are so amazing (albeit scary AF ) and I came up on one yesterday with my dog and was so ignorant I thought he would just attack us both. Hello people. A lot of upset and confusion can be avoided if one reads the information provided by the person who made the video. In this case, these gentlemen were hired by a conscientious farmer to trap and relocate a badger that was digging holes in his field. I dont know much about trapping animals, but it seemed to be done quickly, humanely and without the use of guns or drugs to sedate the badger, which without knowing the exact weight and condition of a particular animal can go very wrong.

Wow! Human reaction never ceases to amaze me. I will admit, as I ran into this video by accident, that my first reaction was "why?". I know badgers can be pretty mean so why tempt fate by messing with one.Then, I read the video description...no more confusion; I understand why this was done. A little bit or reading/research kept me from making a stupid comment as some have below. As for the rough handling, are you kidding? That was nothing. Badgers have thick skin and hard heads. As pi$$ed as he was, I bet he didn't even feel it and the badger was safely relocated to a more suitable habitat...win for the farmer / win for the badger. BTW, if any type of animal control would have been involved, the badger would have been shot with either a tranquilizer or a bullet; bullets are a lot cheaper and can be used from a safer distance so which do you think would have been chosen? If you don't like watching these videos, watch something else and quit cursing this guy and wishing ill upon him...sheesh!

What you did here was just cruel. It obviously just wanted to be left alone and I could tell it was holding back from biting you, cause quite frankly it seemed more mature than you. Imagine how you would feel if there was a race of giants that were 10 times taller than you and you were out minding your own business and one came by just to get a thrill from terrorizing you.
@andyp311
@andyp311 9 жыл бұрын
CrazyIvan1988 If I was causing costly damage to another giant's property, and said giant was removing me from a dangerous situation, effectively saving me from being run over by a giant tractor, or killed by the landowner giant, I would feel very grateful.In this case, the badger didn't have the cognitive ability to have feelings of gratefulness (nor the ability to show "maturity" for not biting--the badger wasn't hunting us, so it wasn't going to make any unnecessary efforts to bite. Had we not retreated when he advanced, or been more careless when approaching the badger, he definitely would have bitten). So as far as the badger was concerned, this was a strange incident that happened for a few minutes one day. He had no feelings about it one way or another, because his brain isn't set up that way.Read a video description sometime.

***** have you ever considered we don't own the planet? just cause someone exchanges worthless paper and says "this lot of land is now mine" means nothing. i don't know if you believe in god or not, but i don't honestly care. he created the world and he is the only one who owns it. we're all borrowing his land. just because another one of his creatures comes where food is growing doesn't give people the right to throw it around and abuse it. if the "owner" of this lot of land didn't want critters coming near "his" food, he should have invested in better fencing and made it deeper so it wouldn't be burrowed under.

All that to save a critter and everyone is upset.

In most civilised countires people cannot get pistols like that and are not allowed to interfere like this. Where I live, when there is nature of any value (which is very subjective, I know) you cannot build anything and you need to move...So from that persepctive this is pretty bad.
@andyp311
@andyp311 8 жыл бұрын
Fortunately, that perspective isn't applied here and is incredibly hypocritical. In this case, the farm was there 70 years before that badger could have been born. Was this farm once the range-land of other badgers, or coyotes before that? More than likely. However, I promise, that whatever street your house or apartment is on was once the home-range of some sort of wildlife, same as every house on every street in any civilized country. So if this farmer needs to move, so do you. Would you remove yourself from your home if a mouse moved in? Granted, you understand that the value of wildlife is subjective, but regardless of value, a nuisance or a threat deserves to be removed, or dealt with. That might not be politically correct, but it is realistically correct.

I must say I am absolutely taken back every time I read all the comments on videos where animals rights people get fired up. The way you people think is mind boggling. Elizabeth E has most likely spent the majority of her life on concrete and has zero intelligence about fields and farming. One, it's not that the badgers eat the crops as much as it is they can dig massive holes in the ground hard for the farmer to see.....Like the description said. If these videos bother all you so much then why do you watch them??!!! I'm starting to believe it's just so you can make uneducated comments and express how much you hate the human race because you never fit in as a kid so animals became your only friends. Look, I don't like animal cruelty but I hunt and fill my freezer every year. What happen in this video was rare because most farmers or pest regulators would have shot, trapped or poisoned the thing and if you really knew how tough a badger was then you would know this guy didn't even bruise it.
@andras2700
@andras2700 9 жыл бұрын
Sound logic and thank you for the "normal" thought out comment, unlike the rest of these idiots that don't understand that an animal is tough! I mean there is a video on youtube where a sheep or ram, rams a cow and the cow gets knocked out while the smaller animal gets up. That's proof alone that even the smallest of animals compared to big ones are still tough as hell!

I had a family of badgers in my backyard. I have a big yard and a garden. They could eat 2/3 of a 3-pound cabbage one time. They dug up lots of dirts. I found the hole and poured in about 50-lb's of cement and then poured gallons of water. Problem was gone but some others dug another hole on the other side of my back yard. I did the same thing. Could not shoot them since I live inside the city limit. They are about 30 pound and moved like a small bear, Very dangerous! Never chase them. Just do what I did.

He could "feel" him through guard hairs in his forehead, like cat whiskers, which allowed the badger to create a visual representation of the person in his head. Did you ever see Daredevil? Ben Affleck is actually the one that came up with the "using sounds to create mental images" for the blind superhero, but he got the idea from catching badgers with Matt Damon, like you see here.
