I like to think of wolverines and honey badgers as two sides of the same coin. Rather than debating which is better, or which would win in a fight, I rejoice in the fact of their great geographic separation. I don't know which would win in a fight, and I'm too terrified at the idea of them getting along and tag-teaming the rest of us to want to find out.

I live in OR and they've started coming back into the state and I'm stoked! Edit: because I've now seen two people from OR making this false claim, WOLVES ARE NATIVE TO OREGON. Go learn your own state's history before spouting off that nonsense. There's a native wolf species for almost every single state in the union except Hawaii. Gray wolves in the north and red wolves in the south (they're nearly extinct at this point tho), and OR had timber wolves which are gray wolves, so yes they're native here.

I wonder what impacts the length of the gestation period. And it's so interesting they have delayed implantation like black bears. One of the first books I owned was the Spanish translation of Reader's Digest Marvels & Mysteries of Our Animal World. The one with the dolphins on the jacket. It's a collection of Reader's Digest articles about animals, ordered by sections. There's one about "evildoers of the animal world," including the wolverine (glotón). It can be really vicious, revengeful, and incredibly smart. There was a story about a trapper/hunter who found himself at odds with a wolverine, and in the course of a few days (or hours?) the animal ruined his traps, went into the man's cabin and ruined the furs he already had, contaminated his food, destroyed everything including his snow rackets and *stole his gun.* The trapper had to flee and barely arrived to the closest village. Unforgettable. Never ever go close to a wolverine if you happen to see one.

People kill other people for nothing. For a argument on the street. For a pack of cigarettes. Killing an animal is nothing compare to this. In China they skin animals alive.

You realize animals do the same thing, and you probably think its "cute". Animals rape, kill, maim, and dismember eachother on the daily.

Pure ego of small dk energy. They are the types of people so patheticly inept and insecure they should be forced to hunt on equal terms with tigers. They are the types of scum to rich to care if they wipe out a species. I despise throphy hunters.

Really fun video as always Danielle and Animalogic crew! Steve is also a really fun guest! While honey badgers get all the Internet publicity, between them and wolverines, I’ll take wolverines everytime for all-time badass mustelids!

Fun fact: the largest cause of mortality for eurasian wolverines is wolf attack, mostly when the wolverines get caught stealing carcasses They're not invincible death machines, just tough little shits

Animal people are special people. They see things in nature in a way that always tries to understand, connect and appreciate. Steve is obviously a special person and I hope Danielle took that 'frequency' compliment to heart. Danielle and the hardworking folks at Animalogic are animal people and I only wish they had a bigger platform. Great episode! 🙂

I have to express my jealousy of the breathtaking views that you get to see in your line of work. No life shuttered off in a city, even a beautiful European one like mine, can compare to snow-capped peaks and the sound of crunching snow, and the closeness to animals.

I like how whenever someone does a video of them getting up close and personal with a Wolverine it's always this guy. Also that other guy he's talking about, was that Coyote Peterson? Cause he did a wolverine video with Steve at one point too.
