I think I just discovered my world. If I could work in this field in some capacity, I think I'd be fully satisfied.

Thanks for sharing - I planted some of their hybrid hazlenuts about 15 years ago for wildlife habitat that have done very well in N. WI.

I'm not sure if this farm is even around anymore. There are tons of negative reviews on Daves Garden Watchdog and people saying the plants were in poor condition or dead when they arrived. A shame, the concept is fantastic and exactly what we need going forward but the problems with the company seem to give the sustainability movement a bad rap.

I had great excellent condition chestnut tubelings arrive - that was around 10 years ago. We moved. I want to order again. Seems like Badgersett went under? No updates on their facebook or website or twitter, etc. I emailed them.

I heard he's had some difficult health problems in recent years, that may be a factor. Phil and co have done great work getting these agroforestry crops off the ground. They should be commended for their research and advocacy of this essential shift. Others are maybe better suited to the commercial side of things, and there's a handful of reliable and quality suppliers in the upper midwest and northeastern US. The Upper Midwest Hazelnut Development Initiative has great resources for interested growers.
