I love the panelling effect. I wish you'd made this video before I insulated my workshop. It would have looked awesome with that panelling.
@petedig58092 жыл бұрын
Amazing how painting it lightens the whole feel. Will you do a total costing in materials and time at the end? That would be very useful and interesting to compare with an off the shelf cabin.

Good luck with that pin gun. I had 3 of them and they all gave up real fast. Nice idea with the strips over the joints.

Please please, can you do a follow-up video with Q&As and budget breakdown, what you would do differently etc. Also, I'm always paranoid about sweating, is there any risk of damp issues if the room is used a lot even without running water etc? Can you help me wrap my head around how damp works and how to avoid sweating issues? How breathable are the vapor barrier you used? I find the whole topic daunting.

This project has come together really nicely Matt. The panelling effect looks good. Your family must be really pleased. This build would make a brilliant garden office. Perhaps you could market a set of plans and notes for DIY construction!

Great job Matt. The panelling is inspired and it's simplicity works really well. I've been agonising over how to best frame a window with architraves and headers but you've made my mind up for me now, thank you!

Wainscott effect in a garden room. Never seen it before but it looks really nice!! Well done... very inspired! I used those blades to cut 100mm insulation. Took a tip from another KZbin to cut them with an angle grinder to reduce the wobble. Still not very good though. Maybe for 50mm insulation they're fine.

Nice Matt. Heard about it on the pod cast now seen results, great way to cover the joins. Peter Millard put me on to the acrylic primer, great on MDF. Normally go for Leyland Trade Acrylic Eggshell for the top coat. Gives an amazing finish. Much easier than many KZbin channels would have you believe as it is very simple and easy.

Nice final result Matt - that panelled look really works. And having MDF means easier attaching of light stuff to the walls. I'll be interested too see how that brad nailer performs, been thinking about one of those for a while.

Very impressive, Matt, puts one in mind of the old Badger Workshop. I still think you should have the old 'Badger' airlifted or craned into your new space. Btw same nailgun as I have but I find (unless i'm the weak point) it doesn't always push the brads right in.

How much did the build cost for materials? Great job really liked the finish of the interior.
@youngyvidz7162 жыл бұрын
Great to see this finished, turned out beautifully! Would you have spaced the studs differently if you were working with a soft insulation like rockwool, or just fit it to the gaps with multiple bits? Also it doesn't seem like you've incorporated ventilation into the flat roof, is this an issue or is it unnecessary?
