I remember when KZbin was unblocked in 2011 and I stumbled on a video of Badiaa. She was singing el Hafnewi El Maghzewi , a song about a man who was killed during the uprising that took place in Rdayef in 2008. I was 16 and completely clueless about the events but also the extent of the oppression and injustice in my country. I distinctly remember that day because the song shook me to my core by it's audacity, the story it was telling and Baddia's voice, equally. Badiaa looked so young but to me she was invincible because she was singing a truth at a time when it could cost you your freedom. I have been a huge fan ever since, I'm yet to listen to a Neysatu song that didn't make me marvel at the beauty of her voice and the ingenuity of her words. Badiaa you make the world a better place, much love
