i’ll say this as a Gen-X who grew up in the 80s I absolutely love this guitar and the other ones they have offered and I appreciate that they give you an option to get one left-handed, but at $2500 or more that is steep. I got my Kissel for a $1000 less than that, but if I ever came into some money, I definitely would consider getting one.

I agree. I am also a gen-xer. My main guitar growing up was a USA Baretta. And I too swear by kiesel’s!
@michaelmetal712 ай бұрын
@@BlairArroyo wow that’s cool i would’ve loved to have a barretta when i was a teenager but they didn’t make lefty kramer guitars 🎸 in the 80’s unless it was a custom shop,finally got a lefty red pacer now that kramer offers left handed versions of their guitars, and yeah kiesel makes amazing guitars too

Agreed.. Price point is too high. Awesome job on it though! I have the first run and wanted this one bad but 2 things killed it for me personally. The painted neck and the price. I had it in my cart and wanted to pull the trigger but 3100 shipped? Can't do it
@BlairArroyo2 ай бұрын
@ holy shit I thought they were 2500. 3100 with shipping is high. But you are paying for a guitar only 24 other have. But again you can custom order a kiesel for that or way less and have a guitar only you have! And painted neck was stupid man

@kevinmoser1544 I did a video for Emerald Guitars recently and those are custom made and even more expensive. The price has nothing to do with the quality of my review. And Emerald loved the video.

@@thebaldshredder hey bro I watch your show, problem with mine is the neck got warped during hurricane katrina and I put a focus neck on it so it’s not original anymore but it’s still a beast man. Mine had the schaller zebra Humbucker.. I took it out and boxed it up and put in a Seymour Duncan 78. Man it sounds good with that all maple body. If you want to review it still I am down but it just wouldn’t be the same man. One day I hope I can find a USA Kramer neck for it but those things are dinosaurs

This looks awesome and I'm in the market but it misses a couple of points for me. 1. I will not buy a guitar with a glossy neck finish. 2. I will no longer buy guitars that don't have stainless steel frets. In a year of playing I get significant fret wear on standard frets and it's just not worth it anymore. Glossy necks just feel sticky and slow.

Lots of pickup talk but we never hear them clean. Backing off the guitar volume on a dirty amp isn't the same. Also who is making these pickups?
@badlandsguitarcompany2 ай бұрын
5:15 is on the clean channel. The pickups are built by Badlands. We have 1 guy that only builds them exclusively for BGC. Not a 3rd party company.

To be fair though are you really buying this guitar to play clean?
@I.am_Groot25 күн бұрын
@@LicksoftheLegend Yes. Not often. A superstrat to me needs the ability to get dirty without losing clarity. This one sounds pretty solid clean and funky but to my ears has an unpleasant breakup laying on top of the crunch and it could be how it comes across maybe live its better.

How do you plan to make inroads with that yesteryear 80s shredstick in a market already dominated by Ibanez and Jackson? Meanwhile the gen-x are aging.
@robertpurdy44522 ай бұрын
You've missed the point of the guitars. They are throwback '80s shred machines built here in the United States. They only make a small number and sell out each run. They are pointedly trying not to be Kramer, Jackson, and Ibanez and can stand toe-to-toe with Custom USA built models. You need to compare them to the correct lineups and the Badlands are much less expensive than Fender Custom Shop, USA built Schecters, Suhrs, USA built Jackson, etc. These were never meant to be compared to import models.
@verbotenco2 ай бұрын
@@robertpurdy4452 Definitely a throwback to the 80s. Even your mindset is a throwback to the 80s...lol. These days even guitars made in Indonesia are as well built as USA Gibsons, Fenders, etc. It seems you are stuck in the past bruh... Go out and try those 'import models' you seem inclined to dismiss and prove it to yourself. As for these Badlands guitars, they are too late in a market already shrinking with the target audience are literally dying out. Gibson has recently done that with the newly revived Kramers; Fender with Charvels; and Ibanez with the Genesis line.
@I.am_Groot25 күн бұрын
@@robertpurdy4452 I have nostalgia for 80's USA shredders though to be fair the time period had plenty of amazing options coming out of Japan also. In and around this price point there are a lot of vintage guitars around and many of those will be worth more 10 years from now not less. My MIM Charvel San Dimas has a fast maple neck rolled fingerboard solid Floyd and a set of smoking Duncan's in it for a lot less money.

Can't get past the goofy headstock. They should have gone with a banana, kind of a no brainer for this style guitar. Rotary pickup selector is a poor choice, who wants that hassle in a live gig situation. Swing and a miss TK.
