Life is cruel at times Jack.. but you will battle through, you have no choice.. I know how you feel, I really do.. watching our parents suffer at the end.. especially when you look at those photos of them when they were in their 20s and 30s .. it breaks my heart reading things like this.. and yes it’s hard, especially in these confusing times. I wish I had been born in the late 1940s or early 50s so I could have lived in the good times of the world, when people had more freedom to enjoy themselves without being so restricted.. I think your dad must have enjoyed his life during his younger years and I really hope there’s an afterlife where your dad can sit on a table with Lemmy and have a good drink together with him. Here's the measure of the man - most bands can live, continue and often thrive when a main man quits or dies. AC/DC thrived without Bon, The Who powered on without Moon the Loon, Floyd flourished without Syd Barrett and Sabbath succeeded without Ozzy. No disrespect to those guys - they were legends but Lemmy WAS Motorhead. He was a pirate, an icon, a leader, a swashbuckler, a talisman and an emperor. He was one of the few men who lived their life on his terms. Most of us aren't brave enough to do that. And do you know what? I think Lemmy dealt with death on his terms too. He was told he had between 2 & 4 months left to live but he died 2 days later? Hmmmmm? I think Lemmy saddled up one last time then and fell on his sword. He died like a king. I suspect he cracked open that last bottle of Jack Daniels, unwrapped that last box of cigarettes, snorted those last lines of coke and then accepted that palliative care in one go (if you know what I mean). Lemmy wasn't the type to wither away with a squeak and a whimper. I believe he made a decision and went out like the hero he was. Cancer smirked upon him but he got the last laugh. RIP Lemmy my old mate. We'll miss you but we won't forget you. Your legacy is safe in our hands. We'll continue to fly the flag and guard your realm.

Yeah, Lemmy wasn't the type to fuck about. He was a boss, I doubt very much he'd have allowed himself to linger and slip into a pathetic mess. I could be wrong of course but Lemmy walked the walk and talked the talk. I think he took control of his own destiny. I think Mikkey said as much.

Mega Dejw maybe not in the classic sense. But no matter how you look at it, he was always a respectful, honest and upright guy. Always stayed true to himself and loyal to his friends and his big passion. Some people may say he wasn't "nice" because of his lifestyle but he sure was a decent person whom some "nice" guys could still learn one thing or the other from.

This song probably gives us a glimpse of the real Lemmy - a sensitive, emotional soul hiding behind a wall of sound. THIS song is pure genius - Lemmy, I hope you have a great time wherever you are, and a lovely woman that makes you feel at home. Cheerio my friend, and see you again later...
@jamesmcdonough4877 Жыл бұрын
Lemmy literally peels away his layers of insulation (pride, vanity, lust, ego and id), to reveal and possibly reconcile some wrong choices in life. His perspective of a man of 60+ vice his view of how simple things were at 20 something, is quintessential of getting old and there ain't shit you can do about it. LOL! Amazing and spot-on for a man who's been through hell and back. Thank you, Lemmy from the bottom of my heart. I started listening to Motorhead late in life and got some catching up to do. Lemmy, I play your music everyday and as loud as me misses allows me. Ha! I hope to meet you someday.......RIP

When I was young I was the nicest guy I knew I thought I was the chosen one But time went by and I found out a thing or two My shine wore off as time wore on I thought that I was living out the perfect life But in the lonely hours when the truth begins to bite I thought about the times when I turned my back & stalled I ain't no nice guy after all When I was young I was the only game in town I thought I had it down for sure, But time went by and I was lost in what I found The reasons blurred, the way unsure I thought that I was living life the only way But as I saw that life was more than day to day I turned around, I read the writing on the wall I ain't no nice guy after all I ain't no nice guy after all In all the years you spend between your birth and death You find there's lots of times you should have saved your breath It comes as quite a shock when that trip leads to fall

I can speak on behalf of Lemmy's humble, character, From a phone conversation. This is how it led up to Lemmy on the phone, I was at a clubhouse, where, I met a woman. 'FF, To the next day. She tells me, She just got out of a 6-month relationship with Lemmy. I said, Prove it. She asked, If it was okay to make a long-distance call. I said Yes. She dials the number, it rings. The answering machine picks up. And the unmistakable voice of Lemmy, Coughing, Preceded by Lemmy saying, ( If you're looking for your daughter, She's hiding under my bed, come get her.) beep. I was still not convinced. Until my friend called him, on my office phone which had an intercom just Minutes after the first call. This time Lemmy answered, Hello, 'Who is this? 'My friend: I'm a fellow musician, calling to say hey. 'Lemmy: This is private, do you mind? 'Friend: No, I don't mind, just called to say hey. 'Lemmy: Yeah, I know, 'But if everybody in LA did that, I'd never be off the fvckin telephone, would I? 'Look, If I see you in a club, I'll shake your hand, and buy you a drink. but until then, this is my private line. Do you mind? No, I don't mind, sorry, Goodbye. And with that phone call, In combination with how she describes Lemmy as a good person. I know, He was a decent man, Dealing with his own Demons like everyone else. He kept his life Private, Watched WWII films, And kept his Apt dark, Located on Hollywood Blvd. He liked Jack Daniels, And he's the Godfather of HEAVY METAL... RIP Lemmy.

Wow. Lemmy shows his sensitive side. And his ability to self reflect. He was actually quite the poet. God is not on your side shows that too. His hard arse image hid a true artist not just a drunken rocker. A thoughtful artist with a penchant for hard rock. Never was driven by trends, never was a clone.
